Light on your foot, reliable on the descent.

Look to the Roxa RX 1.0 Alpine Touring Boot for solid downhill performance after a long ascent. Its Grilamind Tech construction keeps this boot's weight to a mere 2lb 9oz per boot, but it still offers a respectable 95 flex for control. A moderate last and light EVA boot board make the RX comfortable enough for long days in the backcountry and hut-to-hut traverses in the alpine.

Gone are the days when touring boots struggled to switch from ski to walk mode, because the RX 1.0's Quick, carbon-fiber switch easily transitions from ski to walk without a problem. In walk mode, the RX 1.0 offers a staggering 62 degrees of cuff rotation for an easier hike. Roxa's Ultralight Tour liner is completely thermo-moldable for custom-fitted comfort. Skywalk rubber gives this boot's sole reliable traction for conquering rocky summits, icy bootpacks, and snowy trails.

    The Right Stuff

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Highly Mobile, great performance on the down, and usability.

    - The walk/ski lever is the easiest and most seamless on the market. The lever is easily engaged up and down with the push of the thumb (or even ski pole) This is one of my favorite features of this boot.

    - POWER STRAP. Enough power is derived from a good functioning strap, and this boot delivers a great adjustable power strap. Tighten it as much as you want and slap it shut. When it's time to tour again, flip it open and enjoy all the range of motion.

-Hinging Tongue. The tongue on the boot is two distinct pieces, an upper white piece and a lower black piece. When properly closed with the powerstrap and lower buckle - the boot feels all of the listed "95" flex. When open, this "hinging" tongue allows for great range of motion - easily 60 degrees or more.

-Overall burliness. For how light this this is it just feels solid. Skiing it, as well as meandering up rocky and snowy ridges - it has the guts to do it all.

I would liken it to the Scarpa F1 - with the added features of the seamless tour/ski switch, and the less finicky lower buckle (not Boa)

    Glen Plake Approved!
