Why We Like The BC 120 Waxbase Ski

In Rossignol's massive collection of cross country skis, the BC 120 Waxbase Ski is the widest nordic ski with an alpine-inspired base for backcountry touring. Designed to move swiftly through challenging terrain, we reach for the BC Ski thanks to its surprisingly light wood core and modest tip rocker because it encourages easy turning off the track. Despite its featherweight feel, the BC surprisingly supports full-length steel edges for solid grip and control when you're explorations end up going downhill.

Float,s Grips, Agile

Despite its light weight this is an extremely good performing ski. Good edge grip, float and turns readily. Early rise and light weight gives great uphill performance. I have skied the BC 120's in the trees and in the alpine through powder, hard packed and wind crust. Unlike other lighter skis I experienced no chatter or deflection. It has respectable grip at the resort but its native habitat is in the back-country where it really shines. In powder the ski crests easily out of the snow at the end of each turn. The ski will pivot/ smear or carve on command. Plastic telly boots recommended. I did not overpower theses skis with Scarpa T2 boots. An agile yet stable performer . A pleasure to ski and one that will boost your confidence.
