    Katana Binding

With the Katana Binding, Rome has created the ultimate weapon for slicing your way down big-mountain lines and carving up corduroy with ruthless precision. It delivers a powerful, responsive feel that's optimal for technical riding and high-speed pursuits, while still offering flexibility where you want, and it's highly customizable so you can fine-tune it to your riding style. New this season, Rome upgraded the Katana with an Asym FlexChannel Highback that features a single diagonal flex slot, resulting in heelside response that has support where you need it and has flexibility on the inside top corners for tweak and smooth flow.

The baseplate makes minimal contact with your board, allowing the board to flex the way it was meant to. AsymWrap tech offers quick and powerful edge-to-edge response for charging steeps and weaving through trees, while still allowing side-to-side flex so you can tweak tricks and get loose. Cant-In-The-Back II lets you customize the alignment of your highback so you can match it with the cant on your footbed, giving you a perfectly aligned ride that reduces fatigue and maximizes power. Customizable forward lean, highback rotation, and straps let you dial in the perfect fit, and plenty of padding ensures a smooth ride without making things feel mushy.

    • Powerful and responsive binding for all-mountain domination
    • V-Rod baseplate optimizes board flex and feel
    • AsymWrap heel hoop balances power and flexibility
    • V-Rod padding smooths chatter and cushions landings
    • Adjustable highback canting aligns your legs

    • Minimalist disc allows true flex

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

I used last seasons model which looks practically the same. I had probably less than 10 days on these and they already broke. These bindings are awesome on paper with the adjustability and comfort. Had two major bad experiences with these bindings and they are a big deal. 1st issue: if your ankle tongue gets bent the other way (this can happen if you step on the ankle tongue when stepping in the binding), it won’t feed in the mouth of the ankle strap properly. You will be able to tighten the binding, but won't be able to untighten it unless you pry the ankle tongue and force it in the mouth of the ankle strap. Basically you can potentially struggle to unstrap from your bindings and look like an inexperienced rider. I don’t see a point in having this “mouth” piece, it looks like it’s just for visual aesthetics. 2nd issue? Durability. I caught an edge landing off a roller in semi-icy conditions causing me to fall in an awkward position. All my body weight got thrown forward and all that force went to my back binding causing one of the binding plates and one side of the asym wrap to snap completely in half. This was a very low impact area too. So I wouldn't get these bindings unless you plan to NEVER mess up or if your Stale Sandbeck. Otherwise, aside from these issues, the ride is great, you feel locked in, the straps don't unbuckle. Felt no pressure points. Dampening was great with a comfortable ride. The high adjustability is what sets these bindings apart from others; however, I will never buy these bindings and it makes me want to steer away from Rome bindings in general. I would consider myself somewhere between a beginner-intermediate park rider. Check out my IG: @jongabas to see how I ride.

Did you try contacting Rome about replacing these under warranty? Is there a warranty?

These are the best bindings in existence

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

Simple as that... I'm never using another binding again. This is a perfectly stiff, incredibly lightweight, super cool looking binding that will turn heads on the slopes. I have the wood grain iteration, and I love the look. I use this all mountain and they're truly perfect for all conditions, from powder to trees to groomers to park features... I've hit it all and these perform perfectly in all areas of the mountain!

    The Arch-type for all

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

The Katana is BY FAR the best performing lightest weight binding for the money on the market. I've shifted to equipping my quiver with these and have nothing negative to say about them. They work as advertised. They are super comfortable They don't break. They are light, and they look great.

Katana is an all terrain killer.

The Katana is our ultra-light binding that pushed the envelope on customization and connected comfort. Now a staple in the line thanks to the its ground breaking AsymWrap Tech, this versatile beast of board-feel helps keep you darting through trees, but doesn’t lose the power you need to rail euro carves. Always the innovator, the Katana gets our new ProGrip Toe Strap, featuring Auxetic Shape Technology™, for an even more snug fit. The AsymChannel Highback provides the backbone for all-mountain precision, while the fan favorite Ultralight Ankle Straps keep the good times cranked to 11.
