Why We Like The Rome Cleaver Snowboard Binding

With a stiff flex, carbon-infused elements, and ultra-customizable components from top to bottom, the Rome Cleaver Snowboard Binding is our choice for charging hard from the steep and deep to the gnarliest kickers. Both the highback and the FullWrap baseplate are made with carbon, lowering weight and intensifying response for high-energy reactions in tight scenarios. The baseplate adjusts to fit a larger array of boot sizes and shapes, and the highback both rotates and cants to best match each rider's leg curves.

I am going to be honest, these bindings are comfortable, but they are made for riders that ride small dinky hills in Vermont that are covered in ice. In addition, this company's customer service is by far the worst in history of businesses. Let me elaborate, the bindings have so many options to tweak or as they call it "customize" your fit. Well, the issue is that you have like 20 screws that get loose throughout your day or else your riding on loose components and the binding is moving all over the place. Again, maybe they do not do this when riding bunny hills in Vermont, but on a mountain, bring your park tool, or might as well bring your entire gear tool set. I have called Rome which they gave me a phone number and it is busy literally all day every day. I have emailed Rome and they have not returned any emails (3 attempts). Horrible service for products that are developed for children level riders. Now i know why literally no ski shop in my mountain town carries Rome. These bindings are now on my rock board, as there are much better bindings out there, for a much better price point. This company is a bunch of pompous, lousy riders and their products show for it. Stay clear.

Best Bindings Ever?

Might be a hot take but these may be the best bindings I have ever had. I mean that. I have never had a binding that is so responsive, comfortable and extremely adjustable for the perfect fit. At first, I didn't realize I could make so many little adjustments to almost all parts of the binding because that's just not what I am used to. Once I figured this out, I messed with everything to see what felt the best. I moved the high-back around, heel strap, foot-bed and chassis and I absolutely noticed a difference in my riding. For the riders out there that really want to fine tune their gear and get the most out of their board, boots and overall riding - the Cleavers are the perfect bindings. They're seriously the most versatile out there!
