Tubes for your bars for your boards.

For hauling your sticks or boards up into the sky, the RockyMounts LiftOp Roof Rack is tough to beat. The hinged clamp design is padded by rubber "gums" that flex enough to allow for up to 2.75" of vertical capacity, which is more than enough to accept even freakishly thick planks. The tubular profile is relatively quiet, saves fuel compared to any wall-like rack profile, and the wide clamp design provides a particularly secure grip. The rack attaches with form-fitting cable mounts that can clutch onto nearly any crossbars, including stock bars and those of competing brands.

The Smalls (small) rack's clamping area is 22" wide (27.5" overall) and can accept 3 pairs of skis or 2 boards. The Biggie (large) has a clamping area that's 27.5" wide (33" overall) and can accept 5 pairs of skis or 4 boards. All listed equipment capacities are estimates, and your gear may vary. Each rack measure 5.5" tall from the top of the crossbar using cable mounts and 4.25" tall when using T-track hardware.

    Great Ski Rack

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I recently purchased this ski rack, and have to say it is the best bang for your buck on the market! I got the biggie, and absolutely love it, I drive a 2006 Nissan Frontier, with a full cab, and it looks real nice and sexy on top of that bad boy! It is definitely nice to have, so I can have the security of locking my skis and friends boards on top instead of leaving them in my truck bed, where they are no where near as secure.

If you are considering I'd say go for it!

    Perfect for late-model Volvo crossbars

Just mounted these up to our '12 XC60 and it took about 10 minutes using the Volvo (Thule) t-track system. Perfect, low-profile fit. We bought the small LiftOp, which is longer the Yakima Powderhound we previously used. Can't beat the $99 sale price for a rack that includes multiple mounting options and keyed locks!

ive always been a Thule guy myself but times are tough and i simply cant afford the latest and greatest Thule has to offer. I took a leap of faith and tried this rack out and have been in love with it. Easy install, comes with locks, and gets gear from point A to point B. save a few bills help the smaller rack brand and get a great product!

Best Bang for your Buck Budget Ski Rack

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

in my opinion this is the most affordable rack with good quality. I have the small version of this rack installed on a 2001 4runner with the factory cross bars. It was a breeze installing and only took me 10 minutes in the dark. The small version clamped down on more than I was expecting: a pair of Line Profit 100s, pair of K2 Wayback 88s, and 2 split boards (stacked on top of each other).

The cable attachement system made me a bit skeptical at first but I clamped them down and they haven't moved a bit.
This rack did indeed come with lock cores installed so no need to fiddle with them. I love how the buttons to open the racks push up so they are great on an SUV. You just give them a little smack and they pop right open. Super easy to use with gloves.

Overall, I'd buy this rack again and I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great budget rack. I like it so much that I may upgrade to the larger version for more room.

      Great Affordable Rack

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This rack is quite a bit more affordable than the options from Thule and Yakima. I installed the RockyMounts Lift Op Ski rack with ease on a Subaru Crosstrek with factory bars. I have the small version and it holds a Snowboard and pair of Rossignol Soul 7s without much more room. I think it would probably accommodate 3 pairs of fat skis. Two snowboards may be tight.

The only concern I have is the cables used on the attachment for the bars potentially stretching. Other than that this rack does the job perfectly and for a reasonable price.

One thing to note, these did come with lock cores installed!
