    No compromises.

OK, so the RockShox RS-1 ACS Solo Air 120 Fork isn’t the cheapest suspension fork out there. That’s true, but it’s like saying the space shuttle isn’t the cheapest flying vehicle—you can get cheaper, but you sure as hell can’t get anything more advanced. Right off the bat, you see that the RS-1 ACS’ legs slide down over the stanchions, not the other way around. This keeps the oil above the bushings, which improves lubrication. The axle and dropouts are totally different, too. There are actually two axles: a traditional 15mm job and a specially designed 27mm Torque Tube axle that locks the wheel directly into the dropouts, making the whole deal behave like a single, mega-stiff piece for killer performance when you’re riding at the limit.

Further up the fork, the steerer tube and crown are made from a single piece of carbon, which is bonded to the carbon legs for even more stiffness and dampness. There’s a bar-mounted remote for easy lockouts, and enough adjustability is built into the system that you can control rebound, compression, spring rate, and more. If this sounds like it needs a special wheel, that’s because it does. The system is called “Predictive Steering”, and only SRAM and DT Swiss make wheels that match.

If you can't decide between a sid or rs-1, then choose an rs-1. This fork is great. With the fork inverted it keeps the stanchions proper lubricated. The fork feels great and is smooth. Only downside is that your wheel needs a predictive steering hub. It does however stiffen up the front of your bike and improve handling.
