Shelter from the storm.
Designed to hold up against some of the most demanding weather you'll encounter in the mountains, the Ride Men's Monthaven Jacket employs advanced waterproof, breathable technology for reliable protection. With a waterproofing and breathability rating of 20K/20K, the Monthaven defendss you against harsh rain, sleet, and snow storms, while using 37.5 by Cocona to prevent the buildup of sweaty internal moisture from being trapped and bogging you down.
Further ensuring your dryness, Ride uses fully taped seams with 3.5L Seam tape for a complete seal against the elements, and an Aquapel DWR coating to let precipitation bead and roll off this jacket's face. Its 4-way stretch fabric promotes a more natural range of motion for hiking, slashing, and grabbing, while extra-long underarm zips make for an easy and quick way to dump any excess heat that may get trapped. A helmet-compatible hinge hood helps you stay protected from harsh weather, and the internal wrist gaiters help cinch out nasty weather under your gloves. Plus, a multitude of pockets keep your phone, wallet, keys, chocolate bars, and trail maps close at hand.

I don't think the marketing for this jacket does it any justice. Its a great coat with a ton of surprising features. It has a great fit that even allows me to zip all the way up and hide my face behind the top of the jacket. Even with a large head and wearing a helmet, I had no difficulty dodging wind behind the zipper. It veers slightly to the right towards the top of the jacket which helps to avoid zipping up a beard or any layers on your face and neck. All the zippers are stout, and the cords for all the smaller zippers have a vulcanized tip. The overall fit is great and articulated nicely. I don't feel any tugging when moving around, even on hard pumping runs. Its incredibly water and wind tight. I was able to ride 30°F days with only a base layer. The jacket is surprisingly warm for a tech shell.
The other day I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered a beer holding pouch hiding in one of the pockets.
The only thing I could see as a complaint would only impact goofy riders. Since the main zipper veers right towards to the top of the jacket, if you ride primarily facing the right, it puts the zipper right on your mouth. It isn't a huge deal, but when your hiding from sub temps it can be a nuisance. I ride regular probably 90% of the time so this doesn't impact me too much.
