Reynolds understands that we want to get the most out of our riding experience but we don't always have the funds to afford the latest greatest carbon wheelset. That's why we're excited about its new AR lineup built with wind cheating, stiff, and lightweight carbon fiber rims, with just a few cost-cutting concessions getting it to around half the price of most carbon road wheelsets. If you fancy some deep section wheels for your road, tri, or TT disc brake machine, the 58/62 Carbon Disc Wheelset is the ticket.
Reynolds builds these wheels to inject some speed into your ride and offer an aerodynamic advantage. Seeing as the rim profiles are refined for better crosswind stability, it pairs well with modern, wider, tubeless road rubber, yields a comfortable ride and is exceptionally durable, we wouldn't hesitate to ride these wheels every day. And with Reynolds offering a lifetime warranty on the hoops, you can rest assured that if something does go afoul, it'll have your back.
As we mentioned above, the rim profiles are optimized, depending on its front or rear placement, to better cope with the wind and forces each wheel sees. The front is slightly narrower, helping to reduce its frontal area and is slightly blunter for stable crosswind handling. The rear is slightly wider, helping to reduce rolling resistance while its 62mm depth provides increased stiffness and even better aerodynamics. Both rims feature healthy internal widths letting you run wider tubeless tires at lower pressure for better traction, faster rolling, and more comfort, and are shaped to increase stability and reduce drag over a wide range of yaw angles.
The carbon hoops are laced with Sapim Sprint spokes and durable brass nipples, with 20 spokes on the front and 24 out back, to smooth rolling Reynolds Allroad hubs. The hubs have a quick 10-degree engagement ensuring virtually zero lag time in your pedaling stroke propelling you forward. It comes set up for thru-axle use and QR adapters are available separately. Choose between a Shimano/SRAM 9 through 11-speed freehub body or a SRAM XD-R driver.

I had been shopping carbon wheels for quite some time, and really wanted something deeper than 40mm but still manageable in a crosswind. I came across these wheels and they were exactly what I was looking for. I really liked the fact that they were deeper in the rear wheel (62mm) but slightly shallower and thinner in the front wheel (58mm) but not so much so as to be noticeably asymmetrical. Reynolds clearly did a lot of research to find the optimal size for front and rear wheels without sacrificing crosswind stability. I liked the fact that they were tubeless ready and had a wider profile so I would be able to use a 28mm tire to soften the ride a little on a very stiff bike. I was a little concerned that by going for value I would be sacrificing quality in the hubs, so far the hubs seem excellent. After installing them I let them spin a little, left the room for a minute or so, came back, and they were still spinning. I did not have any difficulty getting the tires over the rims (a complaint I hear often about some carbon wheels). Took them for a ride recently and love how the deep carbon resonates. Had the chance to test them in the wind, and at 35-40mph speed downhill in a direct crosswind, I barely noticed any instability in the front wheel, and I am a light rider who has felt pushed around by the wind before. I love the fact that they are setup for disc brakes because I did not like the squeal I heard from carbon pads against carbon rims, and need the stopping power for canyon descents and wet conditions. I would definitely recommend these wheels.
