Sandals broke after 4 months

The sandals I ordered broke after only owning for a few months. I did not even wear them often. Poor product.

It is Reef's basic flip flop, compared to the other Reef flip flops I own and have owned in the past.. They are actually much more elaborate than the past ones. I notice they are much more secure and hold onto your foot much better than the more basic ones. That can be a good and a bad thing. While it holds onto you foot better, it also is a pain in the ass to get your foot into when you are trying to get into it if your foot is wet at all and even when it is dry. Most people just want a basic flip flop, no need for extra crap, or fancy styling. I go to the beach to be a beach bum, no need for anything fancy or frilly. I like the Reef brand and I will most likely buy the most basic Reef sandals in the future as well. Anything but the stupid bottle opener on the sole. You are at the beach, pull your head out of your ass and just drink from a can. The last thing anyone needs is some asswipe breaking glass anywhere. Kind of a stupid thing to add on Reef's part to their sandals.

I got these flip flops for my boyfriend as a gift. He grew up in flip flops and is very particular about the shape/weight/quality. These flip flops didn't meet his standards. He said felt a little flimsy and his heel was hanging off the back. They were just not for him, next time I will go with a leather pair. To each their own!

Back in the day I used to get a handful of flip flops for $2 each at Old Navy and they would last me a summer before the heel was worn through. Whatever, though, right? I'm only out $10 and then I just spend another Jefferson next spring. But as I'm getting older I've been paying more attention to my footprint on the planet and trying to invest in higher quality products with greater durability even if the cost is considerably higher. So I bought my first pair of Reefs about 6 years ago and now I'm onto my third pair and, in my experience, they typically last me 3 seasons. So at $30 I'm basically spending the same amount of money but am getting a more comfortable product and only putting i pair of flip flops into the landfill for every 15 Old Navy Flips like I used to. Big win, all around.

What do I look for in a flop? I want it to hold to my foot and these do exactly that. Comfortable and durable these things are simple and reliable. I wear an 11.5 shoe and have an 11 in these sandals but they fit well. I wear them day to day around town and they have been my go to sandal years.
