Predator Rod

The Predator Rod is Redington's ultimate choice for big flies, heavy lines, and aggressive-fighting fish. Its intuitive, fast action performs well in freshwater and saltwater, with components designed to stand up to the latter. The anodized, machined aluminum reel seat and anodized snake guides increase durability no matter what kind of water you’re in. The balance of the rod gives it a lightweight feel in your hand, while maintaining responsiveness. Redington showed their attention to detail by including alignment dots for easy setup and a Cordura rod tube with built in dividers to keep your rod safe.

Best Rod for the Money

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The 10wt model is perfect for saltwater in the northeast. It can send massive flies on windy days with no problem. Big improvement on my casting distance. The 4-star rating is for Backcountry, the rod itself is easy 5-stars. It did not indicate that the 10wt was the 1091-4 model (special Pike/Musky rod) instead of the standard 1090-4. From what I can tell, the only difference is a slightly longer fighting butt and I actually kind of love it, so not a big deal for me personally.
