Why We Like The Next Riser 35mm Handlebar

Race Face’s Next Riser 35mm Handlebar is designed with big mountains in mind. Its 760mm width hits that sweet spot between too narrow and awkwardly wide, making it the bar of choice for anyone threading aspens and chasing the next ridgeline. Race Face opted for a 35mm clamp diameter on the Next, which allowed them to make the walls a bit thinner, which means less material, which means less weight. It all adds up to a featherweight 180 grams, and it’s available in either a 10 or 20mm rise.

  • Carbon handlebar for trail riding or enduro
  • Unidirectional carbon fiber construction is light and strong
  • 10 or 20mm rise to cater your fit
  • Item #RCF000F

Got the wrong Handlebar!!!

I ordered Race Face Next carbon blue graphics 35mm handlebars, 760mm width, 20mm rise. What I got was something totally different!!!! They sent me Race Face Aeffect aluminum handlebars at 780mm width and 20mm rise that were somehow placed in the wrong cardboard sleeve that was marked as Raceface Next blue 760mm width, 20mm rise. So I got $54 aluminum handlbars instead of the $179.99 carbon ones that should've arrived. How the hell does Backcountry or Race Face make this sort of mix up!!? This is totally unacceptable!! I will expect either the correct bars to come to me quickly, or I will be returning my whole order and doing business with a totally different distributer. Not what I expected with my first purchase from Backcountry,

Hey Tom! So sorry to hear that you received the incorrect handle bars! Our gear-heads would be happy to help you out and exchange you for the correct handlebars! Just reach out to us via phone or live chat any time 24/7 and we would be happy to assist you with this!

Bar upgrade

First, my bike is portly, so I wanted to swap a few parts to lighten up the front end. These bars fit the bill perfectly. I immediately noticed how they were stiff in technical sections that required a large amount of handlebar input, yet had a nice give on big drops. Good fit and finish as well. (I received the bars and did not have time to put them on. In the meantime, I did a face-plant and dinged my old bars. Glad I was too busy to install!)

Great bar

Rad bar: -super light -perfect width for a shorter guy like me (5'8") -good dampening -adds cool color to your build without being too loud

Great bar

I've put it through the wringer

The Bar with stood a crash for me that bent the uppers on a Fox 36. I was impressed. 35mm diameter and 760mm width is all I will ever want! it is also super light, I love it.

Broke on the First Day of Riding

I've put it through the wringer

One of the worst things that could happen to you while riding is breaking a handlebar when you're 20 miles into the forest. The handlebars are just not as durable as the other brands, it just seems brittle. Could be the inferior quality of carbon that they use. I tried to get a replacement from raceface but they flat out denied my claim so i needed to shell out more $$$ just to get another handlebar.

Whoa. Did you put the bar into the ground? A tree? What was the scenario?

I did crash, but i didnt think it was a hard one where it should break the handlebar.

Where did your bar break? Possible you overtightened anything when installing it? Seems odd, I have the 31.8 next carbons on my hardtail and the 35 Next's on my trail bike and both have taken a major beating.

Once you go 35mm...

I've put it through the wringer

We switched from 31.8 to the 35mm clamp size and nothing has tightened up the front of the bike like this. I never realized there was an innate amount of flex in the old set up (particularly in the stem) until making this switch. Now my XC bike feels like a road bike with an integrated bar/stem combo. Its most apparent when you go back to your old bike. If you use a bike computer mount that clamps the bar near the stem, be warned - it won't work on this setup.

The Bar Fly mount will fit a 35mm near stem. Check it out

Great for the Roubion

I've put it through the wringer

I put these on my Juliana Roubion about 3 months ago which is generally getting ridden 2 to 4 times a week. No major crashes in their history to review, but so far they are working out great.

How much abuse can these bars sustain? Are they fit for all mountain, or are they only recommended for more XC / trail riding? Thanks,

Pedro, These are pretty stout bars and they can handle the abuse of Enduro riding for sure, I know a couple that I ride with that use them for other things besides XC and they hold up very well. This is an Awesome bar for everything you are going to be getting into. If you need any additional help or have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact me duirectly at Thanks, Enrico
