    Plant your feet and go.

Having a place to put your feet is a pretty non-negotiable part of cycling, but, you don't want to spend your post-ride refreshment budget (and part of next month's rent) on flashy pedals, either. Race Face's Chester Pedals don't have the shiny aluminum construction of some of their pricier counterparts, but they also won't empty your wallet, and Race Face carefully constructs their nylon composite body to make it just as grippy and responsive as aluminum versions.

Using eight replaceable steel hex traction pins on each side of the pedals, Race Face gives the rubber soles of your shoes a place to hang on when you're blasting through destructive territory. It also fully seals the bearing and bushing system while a durable Cro-Mo steel axle keeps the pedal working smoothly for as long as possible. If it eventually does need some work, Race Face makes the system completely serviceable too, so you won't be forced to replace a perfectly good pedal because of a bushing or bearing problem.

    Great Pedal for $

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

You really can't beat the value you get with these pedals. I've used them a few different times and bought them for my fiance. She loves the grip on them and paired them nicely with her Five Ten Freerider Contact shoes.

    Great Pedal for $

    Highly recommended for a reason!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I asked around since I was purchasing these for my husbands bike. Everyone said this was the pedal he had to have. He is stoked. Keeps his foot secure on steep terrain and hard to climb hills with small small enough pegs that it doesn't bother him or cause any pain. He is super happy with them and tells everyone else they have to have them for their road/mountain bike.

    Awesome, Affordable Pedals

Picked these up when I wanted to upgrade my crappy flat pedals to something grippier, and what an upgrade! No more slipping on tough uphill sections, these let me charge through the pedal stroke with confidence. Color options are rad too. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I've tried more expensive flats and thought they handled noticeably better, but for the price difference, these are a great option for anyone!

      Bang for your buck

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a great pedal if you're normally a clipless rider and need a platform option for a day playing around on some jumps or cruising around town. If you're a dedicated platform rider I would recommend investing in a more solid set as the body of these are plastic. The quality of these pedals are hard to beat for the price.

      Light and Bright

I got these as a gift for my dad and his new fat bike.

They ruled the winter riding and provided critical help when search and rescue needed to locate him. ( I got him the orange ones).

        Or

They provided amazing traction while riding in the snow.

        Decent Bang for your Buck

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It's hard to argue with the value vs cost on this pedal. I't nothing fantastic but it gets the job done. I actually put it on a Kona commuter bike of mine but it works great. I don't get much pedal slip but I'll be honest, I'd be hesitant to put these pedals on my mountain bike.

        Performance meets Bargain

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Race Face knocked it out of the park with the release of the Chester pedals. It's lightweight thanks to the nylon body. Plentiful pin placement means there's not shortage of grip on offer. And if that hasn't sold you on this pedal maybe the plethora of color options will. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere and save some coin when buying a pair of the Chester pedals. You won't regret it.

        Everything I need!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I don't spend a lot of time on platforms, so I was looking for the best cost vs functionality I could find. I do get to sample a fair number of them and the Chester is the best I've found for the $$$. The nylon composite construction may not make them the ideal choice for aggressive trail or DH use, but they will do fine in everything else. Barring any big impacts, they should last a good long time as well. You can service the shaft and bearings should they wear out. I'm sold!

        Flat, Grippy Goodness

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Lightweight, wide, super grippy and fun colors! I've been clipless for 25 Years , and these are my first flat pedals and they're awesome! First ride on them I took them on Ahab in Moab , first things first right..and so stoked on how grippy they are . The pegs are long enough to grab on to the bottom of the shoe, you can "claw" your way up and over everything! Love em!

        Good weight, sticky pedal--winner

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I needed a flat pedal that wouldn't break the bank or be a boat anchor. Enter the Chester. I've got Candy pedals with the composite body and they've taken a beating so I thought I'd give this offering from RaceFace a go. So far, so good. The studded pedals provide a big target for slapping down boots and moving on my snowbike and I used the fattie for a trail in Moab this weekend and although the wide platform whacked stones/rocks and off camber trails that you find there, the pedals themselves seem none the worse for wear other than some cosmetic dings. You can spend more for pedals...I don't know that you get more value.

        Sticky Goodness

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Put them on my new Niner Jet 9. They sticky goodness and now I feel like I can pedal harder and I'm not worried about slipping off. Ride in AZ desert. Just did a road ride on old bike wow what a difference. Colors are awesome(Be Unique), price is well worth it and they are tough!

Is this price for a set or just one pedal?
