    No Bones About It.

One thing's for sure: the Men's Zero G Jacket is a clear testament to Rab's rich, mountaineering and alpinism heritage. Designed specifically to combat some of the coldest weather Mother Nature has to offer, the Zero G Jacket features an incroyable warmth-to-weight ratio and lightweight constitution. This design ensures you stay warm, without having to sacrifice creature comforts—such as hand pockets, flexible-brimmed hood, or insulated front zipper.

And to think, the buck doesn't stop there. The Zero G ups the anty with its 1000 fill power, RDS-certified down insulation. This is a bit of a revolutionary step on Rab's part, simply because the highest fill rating to date has largely danced between 900 and 950. And, well, not only that, but the RDS certification assures that the down has been gleaned from animals are treated humanely. Though, on a technical level, this down insulation provides unprecedented warmth and a super lightweight feel, making it an ideal companion for ounce-counters and alpinists who prefer the fast-and-light approach. Meanwhile, the Pertex Quantum fabric stays in line with the Zero G's lightweight constitution and provides tenacious protection in the face of bitter cold temperatures that you're bound to encounter when adventuring high into the alpine.

    • A premium, robust jacket fit for bitter alpine environments
    • Pertex exterior fabric lends protection from elements
    • 1000-fill power assures unprecedented warmth
    • Insulation is highly compressible and RDS-certified
    • Insulated front zipper keeps wind and drafts at bay

    Super Warm and Light

    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 175lbs

Part of my ski traverse kit, this jacket packs down to nothing but keeps you super warm on those cold clear nights. Bring a lighter weight sleeping bag and just use this to layer on colder nights. Starting to really like the quality of Rab products.

The BEST I have on my Arsenal

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

A couple of years ago I purchased the Rab Infinity Endurance down jacket and I was thrilled by the quality craftsmanship and design.

This time I wanted to get something LIGHTER. I'm on the quest of shaving off some weight for my backpacking trips and I recently purchased this jacket. It is VERY light, packs down to nothing (in the included stuff sack) and it's incredibly warm for the weight!! I have other down jackets from the "ultralight category" like the Patagonia Ultralight Down Hoody and the Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer and this beats them off both. Those are also decent jackets, but they're not nearly as warm as the RAB ZERO G. The slim fit is also great and makes this garment thermally efficient. This is a good balance of weight, warmth and features. Yes. It isn't cheap. BUT you get what you pay for. I'm so happy with this jacket that I'm seriously considering to sell my other "ultralight jackets".

I still can not comment on durability, but my guess is that you will have to be careful with this garment due to the thin/light outer fabric. If you're not clumsy this jacket should last you a long time.

THE ONLY downside I find is the hood. The adjustment is OKAY. It would be nice to have a cinch cord to adjust the fit on the hood. I guess they didn't include this feature to keep the weight down. It would be nice to see the next generations incorporating this feature. It would make it PERFECT and I would definitely buy it again! -

    Best jacket I've ever owned

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 165lbs

This is easily the warmest most wind resistant jacket I have ever owned. Well worth the price tag. Now with another Polar Vortex hitting the north east I'm glad I have it. Over the last couple days I've gone between this and my EMS 3 in one. Hands down smokes the 3 in 1 out of the water. The only thing I haven't tested is water resistance.
