    Down with durability.

It was difficult not to envy those fuzzy mountain goats when you were exposed to very cold conditions for long periods of time, but now they're jealous of you in your Rab Positron Pro Down Jacket. This down filled jacket is designed to optimize warmth and mobility while minimizing bulk so you can get out and explore even in very cold conditions. Thanks to its Nikwax hyrophobic goose down insulation, stitch-through sides and arms, and boxwall torso and hood, your body heat stays where it needs to so you get to explore frozen cliffs with your wooly friends. With Pertex Endurance fabric and flexible nylon lining, you can hike, climb, and explore with freedom of movement even the sky opens up and dumps snow. To top it all off, the Positron also features security and hand zip pockets and a helmet-compatible hood.

    • Down jacket to handle prolonged exposure to very cold conditions
    • 800-fill down provides lightweight warmth that's very packable
    • Face fabric repels light moisture for dry comfort in snow storms
    • Baffle construction maximizes warmth and mobility for activities
    • Hood is down-filled and helmet compatible for additional warmth
    • Reflective prints provide visibility in low light conditions
    • Stuffsack included for easy transport on and off the mountain

This is a great jacket!!! Extremely warm. Would not get this as a midlayer unless you're planning on being below zero for a long period of time or maybe standing around while you ice fish... The length is really nice - keeping in any warmth from you waist up. The big baffles trap a lot of warm air. If you do put a shell on top of this make sure it gives this jacket plenty of space to fill up with air. Definitely fairly puffy. Not very water repellent. I do like that the zipper comes up high - when the wind is blowing you can really tuck in the jacket and stay warm.

    I loved this coat, but...

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 5'3"

I loved this coat and really wanted to keep it. I loved the hood and visor. It looked and felt very well made, but it was too tight in the arm pits, and around my upper biceps. I could move my arms freely, but it was just too tight with my arms down, even with just a thin base layer on. It fit well every other place. For reference, I am around 5'3", have a muscular build, and a shoulder width of about 19". Perhaps a more slender built person would find this coat a better fit. Even though the numbers in the size chart said it should fit, it also said size 16, when I usually take a size 18.

Immerse Yourself in a Down Cloud

This is hands down the best warm puffy that I have come across. I have a MH Ghost Whisperer for easy packing and more "mild" cold weather, but I wanted something beefier for the super cold temps that didn't require an additional layer. In comes the Rab Positron- and I couldn't be happier with it!
When I put it on, it literally feels like I am enveloped in a down cloud- like a super puffy sleeping bag for your torso. It is SO warm. I often don't have to zip it all the way up, otherwise I get too warm. I am confident I could wear this over a single shirt in single digit temps walking around without any problem. I also love that it packs down- easy to stash for winter camping or a day out snowmobiling. While it is puffy, I don't find it to be obnoxiously puffy- it still hugs your figure. I also love that it has a longer length!
I typically wear an XS-S in tops, and the Small fits me well with enough room for a hoodie or sweater underneath. If you are looking for a good warm puffy, look no further- this Rab is a winner!

    Favorite Warm Puffy Ever

This puffy is sooo warm. It is the hands down only puffy I've been able to belay in that I don't need extra layers in addition to it when it's below 45 out. Zips both directions too for belay convenience. I will most likely buy it again if anything every happens to my current one.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this jacket. Its super warm, comfortable, and durable while still being form fitting, for a puffy down jacket. I've worn it in ~0 degree weather and it kept me toasty. The only cons are the zipper is a little bit difficult to zip up and the hood barely fits over my ski helmet. It should be big enough to fit over a climbing helmet though. I got the Graphene/Peony and the colors are just as pictured. 10/10 would buy it again.

My wife LOVES this jacket! She was previously always cold, often layering two down jackets when skiing. With this jacket, she even eats lunch outside! I got her the juniper and it's beautiful. Fit is perfect and quite flattering considering the warmth. Hood fits over her ski helmet and is awesome for cold lift rides.
