    Exceptional warmth-to-weight.

Stuffed with 800-fill European goose down, the Rab Neutrino 400 Sleeping Bag delivers three-season warmth without weighing a ton or taking up tons of precious pack space on light-and-fast climbing missions and minimalist backpacking trips. Rated down to 27-degrees Fahrenheit (European Lower Limit), this down-filled bag is ideal for chilly autumn evenings in the desert and summer nights camped at high elevations. Rab's own Sleep Limit rating of 25-degrees Fahrenheit (based off European Standard + user testing) means it'll suffice when the mercury plummets well below the forecast's prediction.

Water-resistant Pertex Endurance fabric prevents outside moisture from seeping through and compromising the down's heat-trapping loft. Going one step further, the down insulation features a hydrophobic coating that repels condensation and built-up perspiration from clumping together its lofty down clusters. Close-fitting neck baffles seal-in fiery heat, with trapezoidal baffle chambers throughout the body eliminating cold spots from stealing warmth. As a cool bonus, this bag zips into other Neutrino bags when you're camping with your significant other, favorite pooch, or simply desire double the sleeping space.

    Lightweight and comfortable

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I loved this sleeping bag for the packability and the compression sack was really unique. I recently took it on a 6 day road trip across the Southwest and the temps ranged from 15-25. A few nights I was a little cold and my only complaint is that it doesn’t include a draft collar. I really needed a draft collar on a few of the colder nights, if it had that feature the bag would be perfect.

    Have a Cozy Night's Sleep

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've taken this with me on several excursions and am quite simply impressed by it's performance. the temp rating is accurate. Spent a few nights in -2 Celsius ~ 30 Fahrenheit and have had to keep my bag open due to the nature of my overheating and the bag trapping heat as well as it does. I have a 40 inch shoulder circumference and I am 5'11" i fit very comfortable inside of this bag.

Great bag for chilly summer alpine

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love this bag for chilly nights in the high alpine, but also use it for spring and fall desert camping. Its warmth rating is accurate, it packs down small, and it's pretty lightweight.

    Great for cold-bodied people

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

By cold-bodied, I mean people who have a hard time getting/staying warm out in the backcountry. I bought this sleeping bag for summer backpacking. I had trouble staying warm in so-called 25F bags by the likes of Nemo, Kelty, etc. This was my third purchase after returning the Nemo Nocturne 15 bag, and the Kelty Cosmic 20. I was freezing in those bags in July in 30F temperatures. I took a chance on this one because reviews on other sites said it was good. I SLEPT like a baby in this! Temperatures went down to 20F one night in August and I was still okay. Just for temperature control alone, this is a great bag. Despite it being a mummy shape, there was enough room around the knees and hips for movement, and the stretch-tie around the face kept me cocooned nicely. It is also somewhat lofty so it was comfortable on top of the sleeping bag. It's pack-down size is about 9" long, 6" wide diam. so it's average. I bought this version which is for mens, the womens version was out of stock. I am sure the womens version would be even warmer. Overall, this is a great summer backpacking sleeping bag for temperatures between 20F to 35F.

    Hand Filled in Derbyshire

Sleeping bags are firmly where we started and they remain a core part of our range to this day. Back in the 1970's when Rab Carrington was making sleeping bags in Patagonia, he probably didn't imagine that 40 years later sleeping bags with his name on them would be used all over the world in some of the most beautiful yet hostile environments.

To this day, we hand-fill our down insulated sleeping bags at our factory in Derbyshire, UK. This allows us to know for definite that, by the time our bags reach our customers, they have never been compressed or stored in a way which could be harmful for the down inside. By filling the bags in house, we can be completely sure that every down sleeping bag that leaves our factory will arrive to our customers in the best possible condition.
