Whether you're an ultra-light backpacker or simply require an emergency shelter on alpine excursions, the Rab Guides Siltarp 2 provides minimalist protection for three to four people. This ultralight tarp features silicone-impregnated 30D ripstop Cordura for high levels of abrasion-resistance and weatherproof protection. It requires two trekking/ski poles and guy lines (not included) for pitching it in inclement weather and gusty conditions. As a cool bonus, the hook-and-loop sewn edges transform this ultralight tarp into an emergency bivy for two people.

The tarp packs well and has plenty of tie down locations. The ability to make it into a bivi is a plus but does add minimal weight.
