    Flashpoint Pull-On Jacket

When weight is at a premium and the weather ahead changes in the blink of an eye, packing the Rab Men's Flashpoint Pull-On Jacket for your alpine adventure is a no-brainer. Incredibly light, waterproof, and breathable, the Flashpoint's 3-layer Pertex Shield construction shields you from rain, sleet, and snow while allowing internal moisture to escape easily as you make your way up the mountain. Plus, Rab included a lightweight stuff sack that makes packing a breeze, and when paired with the jacket tips the scale at a meager 4.6-ounces.

I like this jacket a lot, but the ultralite aspect definitely cuts some corners that I wish it didn't. I needed something I could keep on me most of the time in the bottom of the bag to pull out when it's needed and this fits that need well. It's not the jacket I would choose when I know I'll be spending a lot of time in it. The material hasn't let any water in (unlike some "waterproof" jackets I've owned) but it also is fairly average as far as breathability. I've found when I'm active in the jacket (bike riding) heat builds up fast and I'm most comfortable in a lightweight baselayer even on days below freezing. There's no accommodations to vent that heat besides the 3/4 chest zip. The hood is nice and stays out of the way when not needed, and the adjustable brim is a nice touch. Beyond that there's really not much for features besides a chest zip. I do wish the included stuff sack was built into the jacket instead of separate. Fit is true to size and slightly slim. For a tall thin guy I'm pretty happy with it. I do wish the body length was longer for bike riding as there it does ride up (and there's no drawstring at the waist to keep it in place). The arm length is perfect for those with longer arms and the wrists were also perfect for me despite not being adjustable. If you plan to layer under this and are even close to between sizes, size up as there's not a lot of extra room in the chest. Lastly, I like the simplicity of 3/4 zip, but I've decided I'd get the full zip if I had to do it again. I tend to take my jacket if off on the move and the 3/4 zip doesn't really work for that. I've had my life flash before my eyes several times when the jacket got stuck on my helmet when trying to disrobe while riding the bike no-handed.
