    Seriously light and low-profile warmth.

There's no reason serious warmth has to come with serious weight—just check out the Rab Continuum Women's Hooded Down Jacket for proof. With a shell made of tough, super-light, and water-resistant Pertex Quantum GL fabric wrapping up a pile of hydrophobic 850-fill goose down, the Continuum weighs well under a pound and packs up into its own chest pocket, making it as unobtrusive in your pack as it is on your back. It still packs the warmth of a much heavier jacket, thanks to the super-lofty down, so you can wear it on its own during chilly belays or approaches, but has a slim fit that slides under a shell if the weather takes a turn for the worse. Rab designed the hood to work comfortably with a helmet, stitched a small baffle behind the zipper to block drafts, and included elastic cuffs and a hem drawstring to keep cold out and body heat in.

I spent ages searching for the perfect women's down and the wait was well worth it. This jacket offers both the warmth of a down layer, while remaining streamline and minimal. I use the jacket primarily for ice mixed climbing where I require extra warmth, however hate the bulk most layers offer. It fits in a flattering and technical way- I receive compliments every time I've worn it! I've had it approximately 6-9 months and it has held up brilliantly through some REALLY FUN adventures without any signs of wear. I did size up (typically wear an xs) as the arms and across the shoulders seems to fit snuggly especially with a developed upper body you tend to gain from climbing, but the small fits perfectly all over. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER !!

I wanted to try a lighter weight Rab jacket. Continuum actually has kept me as warm even in wind/breeze! Of course it keeps me warm (almost too warm in the 40’s), but it has kept me warm in the teens and 20’s (F). Mind that I’m using this jacket in the city as I don’t have a car so I do a lot of walking and having to stand and wait and walk in bitter weather in Utah. I’ve been able to wear light-heavy weight under this jacket (small is what I purchased). If I wanted a more “fitted” look I would have gotten an XS but then the under layers might not work so well. I also can wear a shell (another brand) over this. What I really like is 1) the cuffs on the wrists are elastic and not the adjustable kind. This just keeps the cold out automatically and the sleeves are NOT exactly as long as my arms, but slightly longer, so it’s great (I don’t have feedback for those who have long arms). 2) The zipper hand pocket are nicely placed and my items in the pockets are safe from falling out (the zippers are vertical). 3) feminine look, 4) BEST is the warmth - A+++++++ 5) second best is the abrasion quality - it looks like and maybe feels like a delicate jacket, but this is rugged without being like steel. It’s brilliant!!!! 6) Hood is large and covers your whole head and comes down over your forehead - which is a miracle as many hoods seem to not do that. I have become a Rab supporter and highly recommend their products - for quality, endurance, life-time functionality is as stated from Rab. Price is an issue most of the time for me, but I will say that for some brands, Rab is it’s every penny worth it.

I've taken this jacket on several summer/fall camping and backpacking trips in the Sierra and absolutely love it. I regularly wear it in the morning and evening in camp, and it's light enough and packs down small enough (in its own pocket!) that I don't hesitate to throw it in my pack for day hikes.

It's not quite as light as a certain other "spooky" down jacket, but having tried both, I found that the Continuum fit much more comfortably in the shoulders. For me, that comfort is worth a few extra ounces - and it really is an all-around comfy jacket. For my 5'11"/180lb frame, size large is trim while accommodating a midweight baselayer or even a thin fleece. I've worn it with a thin fleece midlayer while walking around or doing camp chores and been comfortable down to just below freezing.

The shell material feels very delicate, but so far it's held up well. Granted, I've mostly worn it in camp (no bushwhacking in it yet or moving hard against sharp rocks), but I stuff the jacket into a zippered stuff sack to use as my pillow at night and regularly stuff it in and out of its own stuff sack/pocket, and I've had no problems with the material snagging on zippers. Also of note, the brim is stiff enough to stand up when worn but not so stiff or poky that I notice it when using the jacket as a pillow.

The cuffs are a little plasticky-feeling - a touch of microfleece or tricot would be an improvement - but that's a minor annoyance on what's otherwise a great jacket.

    PRETTY 😍

First off - this jacket is flippin' gorgeous. I saw it in the color Violet, fell in love, and then pounced on purchasing at the instant I saw it for a discounted price. I am 5'11"/an athletic build and got the size M/UK12. The jacket fits perfectly and is SO LIGHT AND SO COZY. I love that I can fit this jacket under my Patagona River Salt Jacket and a pair of waders during a chilly fly fishing sesh, and still stay warm and comfy.

    Rab Hydrophobic Down

In the early days, Rab Carrington built his brand around down insulation, and we still see down manufacturing as a core part of the Rab brand today.

All of our down insulated products are filled with the highest quality Hydrophobic Down, developed in conjunction with Nikwax. The hydrophobic treatment is applied at source and is seen as the next step in our progression in down manufacturing.
