The Rab Baltoro Glove will make a great addition to your ice climbing kit, and you can use it for any cold and dry condition when keeping your hand warm is a priority. Its Matrix DWS outer fabric offers a full range of motion so you won't fumble around when you're placing your next piece of protection. Rab added Primaloft insulation on the back of the hand so it'll stay nice and toasty while you climb without hindering dexterity.
Rab also integrated Pittards Armortan leather across the palm so you have a sticky grip on your axe (no more of that scary slippery feeling). Its bemberg palm lining feels like silk so your hand stays comfortable after multiple pitches of climbing. There are leather reinforcement patches over the critical seams of the Baltoro for increased durability against ice and other abrasive substances. The drawcord cuff closure secures over your sleeve quickly.

A bit disappointed
Bought these gloves from Go Outdoors as my thumbs are starting to get joint pain the the cold. Most I’ve ever spent on gloves however scraping the car of ice for work in them and finger tips feeling the cold. Not exactly mountain conditions!

I ordered these gloves anticipating that when winter hit, my hands would finally stay warm on hikes and working outside. I live deep in the country and warm hands are a must in the winter. Today is our first true test in 19 degrees F. And these gloves completely failed, leaving my fingers frozen and me upset that I spent $109 for a glove that performs as bad as my cheap $20 gloves I replaced. My son ordered the Danke gloves which were $30 and his hands were sweating today…

Absolutely amazing!
I've had my pair of these now for about 4 years and they'r still going strong. Use them mainly in winter time in Iceland. Good warmth while working at around 3 °C down to -10 °C. Been both on hard ice, glacier caps and cross country skiing and mountain rescue work. Still stays warm despite the relatively thin palm. Managed though once or twice to get the leather palm frozen while working a lot (moist glove) in sub zero temp. Add liner gloves like the Forge 160 (that I have) and you can't go wrong, even though this is a non-waterproof soft-shell glove (and I live in wet conditions). For rope work, choose a tighter fit, but the little room allows for the liner glove and keeps you warm quite good.
