Step up your training game with industry-leading accuracy and data tracking ability with the Quarq SRAM Red Power Meter GXP Crankarms. Featuring the same Exogram hollow construction as the standard Red crank arms, these cranks track power data with a claimed accuracy of +/- 1.5% so you can get the most out of every ride.
The Red Power Meter Crank arms communicate via ANT+ connectivity protocol, which makes them compatible with most head units. Power Balance technology means each crank arm gets charted separately so you can analyze the balance in your pedal stroke to identify any weaknesses and get to work improving them. It also measures cadence with an AxCad accelerometer, and it's compatible with various training software such as Training Peaks WKO+, Training Peaks, and Golden Cheetah.
SRAM addresses the tendency of elevation and temperature changes to wreak havoc on accuracy with its 10K dynamic temperature compensation feature. By mapping an estimated 10,000 data points to record how the unit responds to temperatures ranging from zero to 130 degrees Fahrenheit, which, in real world terms, means this meter will read consistently no matter where you ride without annoying stops to re-zero and recalibrate along the way.
Keeping with the weather theme, SRAM made a point to ensure this power meter can endure extreme conditions. It'll survive being submerged under one meter of water for 30 minutes, and while we can't recommend taking it swimming, you can rest assured it'll come out the other side of a mid-mountain dip in a stream after a mis-timed turn.
Out of all its features though, our favorite may be the ability to change the system battery yourself. Other systems require you to mail in your crankset for battery swap-outs, but the Red model runs on an easy-to-find CR2032 battery and boasts a tool-free user replacement system as well as a predicted 300+ hours of ride time per battery for more time in the saddle.
