Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've got about 20 days on this ski so far this season and I can say with complete confidence that I haven't experienced conditions yet in which they did not utterly RIP.

On the East Coast from boiler plate at Hunter to 15" of heavy fresh at Stratton. Out west from knee-deep Utah blower at Alta to chalky moguls on Great Scott at Snowbird...I've skied it all on these and I am floored each day at how well they handle everything.

Buy these skis if you can still find them at this point. Unless you're expecting a super-damp and heavy crud buster, you can't possibly be disappointed.

Fit: True to size

Surprisingly maybe, I run this shoe mostly on the road and suburban paved trails through the woods. I trained for and ran a half-marathon with them as well. They are the perfect fit for me and have just the right amount of support. Extremely comfortable even after 2 hours/13.1 miles. I don't feel punished by the road nor do I feel like I'm running on a cloud or soft sand (I hate overly cushioned shoes). I also love the low ramp angle. It encourages a more natural gait for me.

Overall, a very excellent shoe for me personally. I would encourage everyone to at least try them on to get a feel for them. YMMV.

Are these fatties overkill for a level 7 or 8 skier spending 65% of his time on the east coast and 35% on the west coast? I'm looking for something that can rip just about anywhere (can't justify a multi-ski quiver with ~20 days on snow a year). I also want something that I won't outgrow from a skill advancement perspective either. If I am barking up the wrong tree with the soul 7s, what else should I be looking at?
