Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 168 lbs
Size Purchased: 30

These are some of the most versatile pants I have been able to find anywhere in any country. The design thinking that went into these at every level, from pocket placement to reinforcements to usability to breathability- these are simply the best you can find for a huge range of activities (or non activities).

I have a pair that I wear on rock to keep track of the wear and a pair I use on adventures, and a 3/4 pair for really hot days on rock. They all go great at work, a date, dinner, or just lounging.

The waste fit and use of the belt loops plus the built in cinch is by far the handiest part for such a pant. Buy them and you'll wear them and love them like everyone else who has them.

So I've had my share of gloves - belay, climb, and keep your fingers sort of gloves from OR, BD, Petzl, Mammut and more. With these Thriller Gloves you can simply skip the step of taping hands and keep these gloves on from belay to crack climb! They are comfy, rugged, useful, and great for a quick moonwalk on a top out or my favorite....

Thriller Repel.

The construction and the material chosen had a lot of thought for keeping your hands safe from scrapes and gashes in gnarly cracks, and comfy and stylish for the belay and haul. They are a bit bulkier than the equivalent BD's or Petzl, but overall you're getting way more feature use out of them.

There's a reason I have a small arsenal of OR gloves for every season - they are badass at building badass gloves. Hands down.

Thanks Gabriel L. for the Thriller reference

Single most versatile piece of gear ever
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs small

I took a lot of time researching and trying different pieces of gear to fit what I was looking for. I needed a warm enough layer that could get me to the top of alpine peaks, something cool enough to be the only piece during long treks, and something that could be as versatile as possible - being the only piece like it that I wanted to own/carry.

Not ever having seen or owned Houdini products, I wasn't sure about the reviews I was seeing, and if the price was worth it or not. It was a great deal more money than most competitors that matched in craftsmanship, but this piece had so many more benefits. If you do your research, you will see what I mean.

This is my favorite, go to piece for warmth. It goes climbing, mountaineering, hiking, walking, relaxing, and running with me in a combination of uses and layers. Sometimes outer layer, sometimes mid layer, sometimes base layer. The material and construction and craftsmanship is the best I have seen.

This is going to be a bit warmer than most other mid layer fleeces, due to the Polartec Power Stretch which is amazing. I find this to be the best all around mountain fleece for 4 seasons.

I live in the PNW, and when I'm not - I'm traveling to areas where breathability and durability are must haves for clothing. These are also my favorite pants for climbing 0 I own several pairs.

These pants are excellent for rock climbing, long hikes with moderately cool or cold weather, gym sessions, snow shoe trips (layered), snowy days, rainy days, parent-teacher conferences, dinner, brunch, travel, airports, etc. These pants feel and look great no matter where you are or are going.

If it's hot - I recommend getting the shorts - these are some of the most versatile pants for travelers and people who spend time outdoors doing little or many activities.

This is a great little carabiner that comes in at a perfect weight and size for placing anchors on your alpine routes or on multi pitch days. It's also perfect for the crag for a day of sport climbing. I bought more of these to replace BDs.

I pair them with the Petzl Ange L Lite carabiner on dyneem runners for a great set of light alpine draws.

These socks are my favorite - they get worn on date nights downtown to frigid nights snug in insulated boots or running shoes on the trail or around the house or in Chacos on windy days... you name it, these get worn.

Very comfortable, very versatile weight. Quick drying, great breathability. Darn tough.

I was looking for something that was light weight and fit in a variety of pockets with ease and comfort. I had grown weary of forgetting my wallet to avoid it being something to carry - but this little card holder wallet is perfect.

The color is fantastic, cards fit well, cash fits tightly on the back, and it fits in jackets and pants and bags and never gets lost or left behind. I highly recommend that if you're looking for someone to tell you to get it ... just get it.
