Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
I have normal sized hands for my size (small, 5'1") and these fit perfectly with liners. They have an internal liner that is articulated for each finger so it was like wearing a glove within the mitten. Dexterity is surprisingly great and the fact that I can put them on (while wearing liners) and cinch down the wrist strap and gauntlet and take them off without using my teeth is superb. The leash came in handy on the lift and wanted to access anything and needed to slip them off. Note- these do not have a hand warmer pocket on the mittens themselves but do have a small pocket on the leash which is meant to hold a hand warmer. I assume that if it gets cold enough to need warmers you're supposed to have the cuff of the leash up inside the gauntlet? They are very warm but I did notice on the coldest, overcast days the topside of my thumb/wrist area would get cold. I am about to climb Mt. Washington tomorrow so I plan to use these mittens since they do retain heat well and are MUCH warmer than any other ski gloves I have ever used. Good dexterity, But the gauntlet itself isn't quite large enough to make it easy to secure over jacket cuffs, but too large to easily fit under cuffs I also wish they had actual wand warmer pockets on the hands rather than on the leash cuff. 4/5 for them as I have only used them a few times this season.
