Familiarity: I've used it several times

I dig the simplicity of Assos sizing -- especially as ridiculous as cycling kit sizing can be. It works very well to help regulate temperature (so far every ride with them exceeded 90 F), but I did not notice any more performance out of these -vs- Pearl Izumi baselayer tanks that I also use. Overall, I'd recommend if you concern is a solid fit -- if its price, these may not be the best choice.

Not going to get into comparisons - seems everyone has their preferences. If you do buy these they won’t disappoint. Very sturdy. Easy to swap blades (tension). Easy in and out. Exceptionally light. They look fantastic. I bought these with no experience with other brands but I’m definitely a Keo person now.

I have not really beaten this up with gear on yet, but it's held up thru the elements so far. It has kept out the rain and wind. Really great stretch. It runs a bit big compared to Patagonia's normal fit. It will do great with layers underneath, but if you intend to use it alone, size down.

Packs down incredibly small. It is super light. Throw it in your bag for when you need quick protection from unexpected rain/wind. It's not going to get you thru a hurricane, but it will get you back to camp/car/shelter in much better shape than without it.

All of the following meet or surpass expectations:
Fit, quality, warmth, colors, weight, durability. Easily fits between layers - a waterproof shell will be needed if you go out in cruddy weather. Patagonia makes it a no-brainer.
All of the following do not meet my expectations:
none; though I do miss the navy w/red zips and paintbrush red w/ blue options.

I tried the Garmin Edge 1030 -- numerous times. None even made it out on the road (updates out of the box bricked them all). I bought this as an alternative to Garmin and its been problem-free since. It is easy to read, easy to customize, intuitive, and acquires location super quick; essentially all the things you'd want in a GPS/computer. Ideally it'd be color, but I'll take functioning over bells and whistles that don't anytime. It does look great tucked up front, tho.

This is a great alternative to chest-strap HRMs! I have always hated those. This holds up perfectly well for road cycling -- not sure if it'd do alright on the trails. Don't see why it wouldn't, but I cannot speak to it. Be careful tightening; it can get a bit pinch-y if you aren't careful. Otherwise, its simple, comfortable, and works perfectly so far.
