I'm on my fifth pair of these ski pants. I've put them through anything and everything, skiing in the rain, single digit cold, powder, bumps, tree skiing (highly scratch-resistant), you name it. I also use them on a cold snowy morning blowing out the driveway and sidewalk with the snowblower. I wear them with a 2XU 3/4 compression tight, or an UnderArmor tight if it's a bit chilly, and they keep my legs warm even with lower temps and the wind blowing. The pockets are ample for wallet, keys, phone etc. I'm 215 with a 32 inch waist and a 30 inseam, so I had my tailor take the hem up 1 inch so they don't drag on the pavement when walking. I wear a 29.5 cm ski boot, and so the storm cuff is a bit snug but serviceable. They are really good in powder snow, as they are water resistant enough so that you don't get wet. Turn them inside out and throw them in the cold wash, hang them to dry and you're good to go. I highly recommend these ski pants as standard equipment for serious skiers.

I'm now on my second pair, having gotten the first pair about 10 years ago. Those have been put out to pasture for running the snow blower and walking the dog. Great for skiing, I recommend applying something like Snow Seal or other product to the leather part of the glove before using them. Nice and warm on cold days, and my fingers tend to get really cold, but not with these. The seams are all sealed really nicely, and the leather is very durable, and I never saw any cracks or tears.

I see some negative reviews. Take off, eh. I bought one a while ago, XL, true to size, used it to travel to China in the winter. It is excellent for that purpose, moderately waterproof and warm, stuffs into the pocket to give a package that would fit in one of those ziplock bags you use to go through security at the airport. I always take it with me regardless of what else I pack. Got one for my son, we took them to the Sierras, warm enough even at 11,000 feet in summer, folds up for use as a pillow. I've also worn it under a shell skiing. If you're an arctic explorer, this isn't it, but for us regular folk as a versatile travel jacket and for backpacking and skiing, layering etc. this is an excellent item at an excellent price.
