Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size

I bought these gloves for temperatures ranging from mid thirties to 45 degrees Fahrenheit. I find them to be okay, but would like to point out a few things. First the wind still hits your hands. Why hasn't anyone changed out the glove tops that are exposed to wind for something more resistant to the elements? Seems like a no brainer. 2nd I found my index finger to be somewhat restricted. I need my index fingers on both hands for the brakes. I would have preferred more flexibility in that finger. I found my fingers to be somewhat restricted and slow. Overall the gloves are okay and so worth keeping. I have not washed the gloves yet so that might loosen up the index fingers. Having complained there are several things that are positive. The gloves are relatively warm at 40 degrees and above. I get good bike sensitivity through the gloves. Therefore, I'm still in touch with my ride. I also thought the price was very reasonable. I plan on riding most of the winter with the exception of days where where it just isn't fun. I'll add to the review if my feelings change. FYI.. I ride two to three times a week. Mostly XC. I have big palms and short stubby fingers that are thick. Not hat I would call "model" hands.

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs large

These shorts will last several years. It has a very good liner with sufficient padding in all the right areas. With my shorts and seat combo I am very comfortable on my mountain bike and could go all day. The shorts fabric is tough and flexible. I have thick thighs and these shorts gave me enough breathing room. I feel comfortable when riding them. I gave these shorts 5 stars because they are rock solid for my body type. I am 5'6 with thick legs developed from years of soccer and decades of active sports. I also liked the Velcro adjustable tabs on the side. Although, some might prefer a belt.
The negatives. No zipper for the necessity of urinating. The side pockets are unusable while biking, but are fine for normal walking around the parking lot. The shorts run standard American...which means large. Using a pair of Louis Garneau shorts as a comparison, the Fox Racing ranger shorts are a full size larger around the waist and legs, but are a full size shorter at the inseam. These are great shorts for the shorter rider, but have some flaws. Anytime, I can get a pair of shorts with a liner, that fits my body type, and will enable me to bike all, day for years..then I give it 5 stars and overlook the absence of a zipper to pee.

I purchased the Smith Forefront helmet several weeks ago. First it fits well. The sizing dial on the back is easy to adjust on the fly. Secondly its designed for excellent air flow. The honeycomb pattern and horizontal slit design allows air to flow into the helmet keeping my head nice and cool even when the temperatures are in the mid-eighties. Third, I like the looks. I have the camo helmet and it looks really good. Fourth: I like the head coverage. The helmet extends back providing great protection all around my head. I can't quantify how much I love my head. Fifth: The helmet is very comfortable. It stays secure on my head, it has great cushioning inside, and is lightweight. Sixth: Attention to detail. This helmet looks quality. It looks like this helmet will last a long-time and is made from quality materials. Seventh: The straps work well and are easy to adjust. Eighth: I can wear sun glasses with this helmet. I've ridden with my prescription and sunglasses without bumping or scraping. Negatives: None.
Bottom line: I love this helmet and recommend it to anyone that wants a quality helmet. Its a little pricey, but I wear a helmet every time I ride my bike. The helmet is in full contact with my head 100% of the time. You can skimp on some components, but not the helmet. I recommend buying this helmet and I believe you won't be disappointed.
