Took this pair of shoes to Boundary Waters for a week. Up there, don't count on dry feet if you want to wear shoes. These shoes were stable and could handle the tough portages, did not get weighted down with extra water and were very comfortable. Take them off at night, remove the insole and they are dry in just a couple of hours. Did not get a lot of sand in through the weep holes, so there wasn't much to clean. I wore a pair of smartwool socks to prevent blisters, but only 1 pair, no liners.
I would say that these are way better than the jungle combat boots others were wearing, because of the weight.
Backcountry also was the least expensive vendor. Don't hesitate, get these boots!
