I had a hard time deciding between this and the torrentshell model. I ordered both and I'm keeping this one for several reasons: 1) I prefer the feel of the material on the inside, its not quite as sticky or tacky as the torrentshell, 2) the material feels more durable and 3) I think this one is cuter. The torrentshell makes me feel like I'm wearing a little kids raincoat, even though they are the same cut. Zipper flaps just aren't my thing. On that note, the zipper on the rainshadow model is waterproofed and it makes it hard to zip. I always have to try a couple of times to get them damn thing to zip up. On the whole, both the jackets fit well though they run a little on the large side as is typical for patagonia gear. I am a small and always get an XS. One more nice thing about both jackets is that the pit zipper doesn't hit you square in the armpit. It sticks out the back a little which is really nice. I had trouble with other brands.
