Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just got back from Wolf Creek where I rode this board for the first time. I am an intermediate rider, 6', 185 lbs, size 10 foot and use Ride boots and Burton Custom Bindings. I ride groomers, deep powder, glades and off piste technical trails (no show, just go). I ride greens, blues, and some blacks but no extreme areas unless by accident :) This board replaced my Burton Hate which is more of a park board. The Burton would not hold an edge or carve nearly as good as the Templar and on ice it was simply a disaster. Not that this is a knock against the Hate it's just that my type of riding is more inline with the intent of the Templar. The Templar is very easy to turn but does not feel unstable or twitchy when on edge, even at speed. It tracks well in a straight line which made getting off lifts very stable and controlled. It floats really well in powder (I have the 159 MW) even at slower speeds while navigating trees. It also rides the groomers very well. Oddly enough this board is lighter than my Burton even though it is longer. I believe I could have started on this board and it would have shortened my learning curve. The camber between the feet gives me more stability than a full rocker (Hate) and the rocker at the tip and tail makes this board just as catch free as the Hate. I really like this board and feel it will last me several years. It responds well when pushed and is very agile. I know this board is more capable than I am at this point but it is so forgiving I think a beginner could start with it and ride it up to an advanced level. I am somewhere in between right now. I did a lot of research before going with the Templar and read a lot of reviews. Therefore, I felt compelled to write a review as I have benefited from others' reviews. Marketing is one thing but hearing from actual real world riders is more beneficial to me. I hope this review was helpful.
