Maiden voyage this weekend on Mt Washington. High winds, sub-zero temps and deep snow at camp was the perfect test for these pants. Extremely comfortable, not restrictive in any area, stayed up and kept me warm. It was -50 windchill on the summit and I only had a merino wool long John pant underneath. I was 100% warm. Definitely buy these!

Bought these over a year ago but took the maiden voyage this weekend on MT Washington. I carried a heavy load in on well packed trails and the boots were incredibly comfortable. No break in needed. They stayed warm at camp in sub zero temps for hours. The climb was with crampons on packed trail, to extreme steeps which required an ice axe, to some straight up ice to rocky mixed terrain. These boots handled it all with so much comfort, traction and support I never really even thought about my feet. A bit pricey, but this is a serious mountaineering boot

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These are extremely well made bibs for cold temps. It's still in the 30's here and I think these bibs will be best once we are below 30. They are good in the low 30's, but I start overheating getting close to 40. As is classic Castelli, the sizing is nuts. I'm 5'8", 153lbs and a size L is really tight. I also find that the ankle closure is way too small. In winter I have layers of socks and overstocks. I can barely get the ankle zipper closed over the sock layers (I don't like the socks being the outer layer, I prefer the bib pants to be over the socks). I'll post again when it gets into the 20's and lower!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I just got in from a ride and these are absolutely my favorite gloves. The fit, comfort and grip is tremendous. Yes they get clammy, but only if its too warm out. And I would not call this a deep winter glove. I have found them to be perfect between 38-50. I did a two hour ride at 35, and my hands were frozen by the 90 minute mark. Just turn them inside out after every ride, and I put mine up on top of the furnace to thoroughly dry out.
