B maybe a B+. These gloves are ok. On the good side the gauntlet is big and they fit well. The medium fit my medium sized hands really well. They are medium warm. They are medium waterproof. They should come with a wrist strap. I applied the supplied wax and they still soaked thru. They also don’t seem that durable. Mine had some nice slices in them that didn’t go through but made it pretty far into the leather. I have cold hands so maybe I’m a hard grader but happy hands =happy skier. If I had to take one pair of gloves on a trip it wouldn’t be these. I’m glad I got them on sale.

These are fantastic. I bought them because the entire lower leg from the knee down is extra durable goretex—I think 100d. This combined with the cordura instep makes them incredibly durable. They are entirely windproof and were waterproof in heavy wet BC snow all last week. The upper bib is stretchy. The straps are comfortable. I never noticed them even while wearing a pack. The zippers are a little wussy. The right pocket doesn’t have one and it should. I always feel arcteryx could do better zippers and pockets..my only complaint is they don’t look like much. Especially in all black. The fit isn’t to cool and they are totally boring in terms of style. But that doesn’t really count. What counts is that I would trust them to keep me dry and windproof in the worst conditions.

The love grows deeper and stronger. Just got done riding, touring, and traveling with this jacket to Revelstoke for 10 days. This jacket is incredibly warm and lite. It sheds moisture and is wind proof. It doesn’t leak any heat so it’s only really appropriate on frigid days. I twice wore it riding at the resort to test it and loved it.While touring I threw it on during change overs and breaks. It excels in this role. It immediately makes you feel toasty and comfortable. The hood is large and very warm. I have never had any coat match that effect. During changeover I threw it on over my stinger and was immediately happy. It does have one Con. The zipper is very very difficult to start on mine. It always jams at the start. Always. I’m not sure if it is only mine or if this is common. But other than the wonky zipper it is perfect.

I buy too many jackets. This arrived today and it was perfect timing. Coldest Thanksgiving in 40 years...Well, on two dog walks I haven’t even been able to tell the temp outside (32•). It is 100% windproof and very warm. I am 6ft tall and 190. I got the large and it fits well. The arms are a bit long but the body is great. I think a skinnier dude could pull off a medium. As other reviewers mention it is quite puffy. It seems to loft itself up when you put it on. It’s kind of amazing. It is very very lite and very comfortable. The hand pockets will fit your hands even with bulky mittens on. There is an interesting drawstring that runs along the middle that pulls the jacket into your body. The lower drawstring does the same. No wind gets in at all. The hood is very generous. The blue is great. I’ll update this after I use it on the mountain.

I have been looking for something like this for a couple years. There are a few alternatives out there. These appear very similar to Arcteryx’s product. It seems like Backcountry has taken the best parts of the Arcteryx knickers and made their version cheaper and better. These have full length zippers, a wide waist band, a stretchy panel in the back, and a great drawstring. I am 190 and 6 foot and not in great shape. I got the medium and it is almost perfect. The waist band area is perfect however there is a tiny bit of constriction in the hip flexor area if I do a full squat or big stretch. I’m not worried and am very exited to test them in a few weeks. They go down below my knee right to the top of my boots. I will update this review after I’ve tried them on the mountain.

I’m 6 ft 190 with broad shoulders. I got the large and it is very large. I could probably fit a medium but didn’t wanna push it. I also owned last years version. I sold it and bought a different color this year. That shows how much I like this shell. The color Tui is a classic Navy blue. In comparison to last years version I believe they have improved the pockets. Maybe I just never noticed on my previous version, but the front hand pockets are now huge. I love it. They travel the entire inside front of the jacket for both the right and left hands. You could easily fit a couple beers and a sandwich in each. There are also the usual arm, phone, and dump pocket. They also added a small plastic snap to secure the collar. It’s a very minor improvement. It is completely wind and water proof and has survived a lot of trees. The only con is the price

I have not “field tested” these. I am 6ft and about 195. I got the large in blue. I am returning them for two reasons. First, the size is a little off. They are clingy but still a bit loose. I think I could get away with the large but I am hopeful the medium might be a better fit. Second, they are a bit “bunchy” in the crotch area. This might be due to the large giving me to much material in that area. They are a beautiful blue color and the material and sewing seems to be impeccable. The power stretch fleece is stretchy and soft. The areas on the knees and butt are nice but the seams between the power stretch and the “down” areas are bulky and noticeable. I will try the medium and I am hopeful they will be keepers. There’s just something not quite right in the fit of the large.

Everyone’s reviews of these are right on. Even the bad ones. I agree with everything Malik says in the previous review. I really like them but they could also use a lot of work. They are very warm and very comfortable and very lite. I haven’t used them on the mountain and will update when I do. However, they have strange sizing, could use pockets, need a better waist band, better cuffs, and the tag and interior stow pocket are in very strange spots. They’re also crazy expensive. I now wear my around the house almost every day, dog walks, on the way to the Gym. sizing is weird. I ordered a large and returned it for a medium. I am 190 6foot and 33 or 34 waist. I haven’t worn a medium everbut I do on these.

I have bought 4 of these. 1 as a gift for a friend who is world traveler. She takes it everywhere. I have bought 3 for myself But one was stolen by my sister because it’s so awesome. My point is these things rule. My only “complaint” is the colors do not match the website. The tumbling blue, IMO anyway, looks very baby blue on the website. It is not baby blue at all. It is a much more “stormy” blue. I love it. I could be wrong but I swear this XL is a bit larger than my last two. They are expensive but they last forever and don’t wear out or look old even after years of washing. In the fall and winter I wear these like a uniform. It can be worn in all situations from the mountain to almost acting like a modern technical cardigan at other times.

The most beautiful pow board ever. It floats. It bounces off pillows of pow and cushions your landing with a soft playful pop. I rode it for 4 days of heli in BC. It runs through trees without a problem. But where it excels is anywhere you can let her run. Through alpine powder it is a dream. Carve and bounce and enjoy the most stable floaty ride of your life. The board doesn’t seem to have much flex or pop. The pop and float comes from its big nose keeping you up. It is perfectly stable at high speed. It carves perfectly. I don’t know how it is at big jumps or riding switch or anything like that but in deep snow, in the trees or especially the alpine it is perfection. Buy it.

Just used this for 12 days in all conditions. Heli, touring, resort. Dry, wet, windy, cold, warm. It is very very good. It’s light, has great pockets and most importantly Is completely waterproof and windproof. I took some big spills and went through and into some very rough trees and it showed no wear. No tears. Perfect. The curved zipper is fine. Not a negative or a positive. My top 3 jacket traits are waterproof, windproof, and tough and this jacket nails all 3. The only .5 deduction is for the pit zips which are hard to use as well as all the zips which are small and tough to use. Obviously you need to layer under depending on conditions. The cut allows for this. I’m 6ft 200 and it’s big. I got the large.

Follow up review after a bunch more days of use. This jacket is great in certain ways but also has some real negatives. It looks great. Great ski jacket fit. 2 strong colors. But it gets dirty very easily. It’s also easy to clean but it often looks dusty. It is the perfect warmth for resort skiing and heli or cat. It doesn’t have “standing still” warmth but it’s not supposed to. It shines at holding heat that you produce while exercising on the down and venting while resting on the up. I love the warmth and the wind resistance and the waterproofing. They are all perfect. The only downside is the jacket is “fragile”. Anything will rip or poke a hole in the outside. The inside is even more delicate. I love this jacket but that’s a pretty big negative.

I just put 12 hard days on these in Revelstoke. All different conditions. Heavy snow, light snow, heli, resort, touring, trees, alpine. Everything. My point is this, they will soak through in all conditions. I experienced this, and wrote about it in a previous review, but this trip I gave them a second try. I washed them in DWR. I sprayed them with DWR prior to the trip as well. They still soaked through. Mine are now two years old and have maybe 30 days total. They have not ripped. I like the way they look. The pockets are good. The zippers all still work. But none of that matters because they soak though. Maybe the new ones are built with different material. But I would recommend not buying the baker bib.

These wet through. I washed in DWR. I sprayed with DWR. They will wet through. Look, there are many great features about this pant. They look good, the pockets are good, the venting is good, they are comfortable. But none of that matters if they let in water. For me, and the environments I’m snowbaording in they are useless garbage. Save your 400 bucs and put it towards a pair of waterproof pants.

The sizing is strange. It definitely runs large. As I was trying it on I was thinking to myself “maybe I’ll return it for a large.” Then I realized I had already ordered the large. It is quite roomy, you can easily layer under it. For me, I could probably have got away with ordering a medium and I never wear a medium. I am 6 ft 200lbs and the large was roomy.

I got the black one. It looks waaaay better on the website than when it shows up. It’s bulky and frumpy and just not nice. TBH I missed the description detailing it was lined. If I’d seen that I wouldn’t have ordered it. And on the style side, 2 pocket flannels are tough to pull
