Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
Almost 3 weeks in with the boots.
Very stable and excellent support but still flexible. Waterproofing not fully tested by standing in a stream but no rain got in on a very rainy day hike. Looks much better than the pictures show. It's not a neon bright green stripe and accents. Comfortable overall.
Laces dont stay tight. I have to re-tie a few times each hike. I'm going to contact Oboz and ask for any suggestions or replacement laces. Hot spot for me on right heel. The middle of the back heel area has a seam and the stitching is a little rough. This may be a personal issue as all feet are different. Using moleskin for now and will ween off as my foot gets used to it.
As of now it is the best boot I have tried out of the Merrell Moab 2, Soloman X Ultra 3, Keen Targhee 3, Northface Hedgehog and Columbia Redmond. Of all these boots, the Oboz was the right fit for me.
I'm a 13 in some things and 14 in others. The 14 was too big and the 13 is borderline too small. So frustrating.
The boot itself appears to be a great boot. Seems well constructed and gets good reviews. I'm going to try the 13 to see if it breaks in and fits better after a week or two.
Just make a 13.5 please. For the love of all that is holy. Make a 13 and a half!!!!
