Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

So initially I loved this pack, the fit, the storage, the features, but there were some issues with premature wear. In all fairness I did around 500 miles the first year I owned it so that should be expected.
Just recently wanted to have a warranty done on the belt-pack zippers as they have corroded. This is very odd because the other zippers on the pack did not. I had previously attempted to contact Gregory regarding a rip in the fabric, which was my fault, only from carelessness not from abuse. They could not tell me how I should fix the tear myself!!! After repeated emails and phone conversations the only answer they had was for me to mail the pack and they would then assess how much it would cost to fix. Well I'm not going to ship an item with no idea of how much it would cost...would you? So after this last warranty issue they told me it would be $45 to fix a 1.5 inch rip in the nylon. UGH! Really? I still cant believe they have no idea how to tell a consumer how they will repair it or how I should if I want to save a few bucks. Keep in mind they are owned by Samsonite now so probably only about the Benjamins.
Well I will use this pack, after the warranty for the zippers, for friends who need it but will not be taking it with me on future adventures.
Heres some food for thought... My buddy has an Osprey pack, his dog ate part of it, he returned it no questions asked and got a new one with a full warranty. Don't be fooled by companies like Gregory, they do not stand behind their products like a company like Osprey does. So yeah I am buying an Osprey... you should too.

Ok so anything you wear on your body is objective in review I believe... I got the large size Z-55. With that said this thing fits me like a glove, I'm 6' 180lbs. The lumbar is in a perfect place for my back. its not the lightest pack I've ever owned but it fits me better, and is a well thought out design. No rain cover but I already had one so it didn't matter to me.
