This pack is loaded with a ton of intuitive and convenient features for use as a crag pack. The side access is, obviously, great to have. The lack of a lid (who uses a detachable lid on a crag pack anyway?) makes it lighter. Even this, the women's version, is wide enough at the bottom to lay down a rope bag in and the bottom zipper makes it easy to deliver the rope (or a trad rack) by cesarean section.

BUT.... do yourself a favor and keep the box the pack came in and/or order a pack of spare buckles along with it. My husband got the men's version and first time loading it up... the compression strap buckle broke. Backcountry replaced it at no charge, but you still gotta make that trip to the UPS store. I got this one, because I liked his so much and the same thing happened. First time I load it up, POP goes the compression strap buckle. Do I try and send this one back too? What happens if this keeps happening? I'm still trying to figure out how to resolve this.
