I scull in cold weather in mostly open water that at times can be a bit rough. Sculling is an aerobic activity and I was looking for an outer layer that is lightweight, water resistant, windproof, and breathable. Also it had to fit over an Eon SLW Crew LS, which I use for a base-layer; and a Rho LTW Zip, which I use for a mid-layer.

The Arc’teryx Visio Comp is ideal. It is a protective hardshell that weighs almost nothing. It manages heat build up efficiently. It breaths while keeping wind off my back. It is sufficiently water resistant that I stayed comfortable in drizzle and rain. And it provided an unrestricted mobility, which is very important to a sculler.

I cannot praise the Arc’teryx Visio Comp enough. All I can say is that this winter I frequently went out in bad weather and always returned dry and warm.
