Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
Fit: Runs large
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 170 lbs
Size Purchased: xL

I love the detachable suspenders, lack of chamois, and DWR finish, was looking forward to use cycle touring. But there is a seam that wraps around the back of the knee, which with loose fabric causes the fabric to bunch up behind the knee so it feels lousey bending the knee.

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs small

I wanted visibility when riding in light rain and mountain biking, I need sunglasses when wearing my orange Alpha Ros! I had tried the Perfetto long sleeve jersey and found my arms and back got cold from sweat that did not evaporate. With more Nanoflex on the sleeves and back, the Alpha Ros is perfect. The front is much more wind resistant than my old Ibex cycling jacket. I don't like the second zippered internal vest, but I can wear it with a light wool long sleeve undershirt and long sleeve wool jersey down to 32 deg F. It is quite tight, even in XXL for my 36

I got tired of my old coated vest as I tended to accumulate sweat on my back that would chill me on descents. I had tried the Perfetto Long Sleeve Jersey and found I accumulated too much sweat on my arms and back, even with the little Nanoflex strips on the back of the sleeves. The Perfetto vest though is perfect, even with the windproof front, the Nanoflex rear allows my body to relieve the sweat. More similar to the Castelli Alpha Ros Light Jacket than the Perfetto jersey. Beautiful quality and fit, especially around the next and shoulders. Sizing is Castelli's normal wacko, I have a 36" waist and 43" chest, but need an XXL. Orange is incredible visible!

Used when riding the Camino de Santiago in April in rain and light snow flurries. Kept me dry and warm. Only issue is that the hems can't be drawn tight with elastic to minimize rubbing over the knee. So sewed on some velcro patches. As wilh all Castelli products add two to three sizes up.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs small

Size Purchased: XXXL

With a 41" chest & 35" waist, I needed an XXXL to fit. The sleeves of the XXL were too tight for my skinny arms! Ridiculous sizing. The XXXL looks great and fits well.
Beautifully windproof. Worn with a Smartwool 150 gm long sleeve undershirt in 40 to 55 degree weather and rain, I found that while it is fairly rainproof, my torso and arms became wet at 45+ degrees due to sweat, and periodically my arms and torso were cold due to the sweat buildup. I have never felt sweat on my arms before. The jersey DOES NOT breath. The two side vents are totally inadequate. I would just as soon get lightly wet from rain as wet from sweat. My Goretex rain jacket breaths much better and results in less sweat buildup. Would be okay doing a leasurely ride at 40 to 50 degrees, but not when you need to breath hard or over 55 degrees..

It looks great, but I could not wear the XL even though I normally wear Med to Large in Pagatonia, Ibex, Smartwool, Kitsbow. Etc. I am skiing and the sleeves were terribly difficult to get into. Not sure if an XXL will fit. Looks great, but why can't they size it properly?
