Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs small
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 185 lbs
Size Purchased: 45 and 45.5

Very attractive, well-made boot, Fits like the proverbial glove. Choice materials and craftsmanship throughout. Easy to see why it's so loved - by most.

Great boot for any hiking, or just for great support/fit in daily work/play activities.

Recommend 1/2 size up if you're an EE width; typical for Scarpa fitting.

Buy it in the right size and you won't be one-bit sorry. Hard to find shoes of any kind that are this well-made. Typical for Scarpa, though.

Burly, indeed. Very well-designed/made boot, Fits like the proverbial glove. Choice materials and craftsmanship throughout. A Scarpa at its best.

Great boot for loaded hiking. Don't buy this shoe just to brag on your bike path strolls!

The lacing system works very well, but a little mysterious at the outset.

Recommend 1/2 size up if you're an EE width; typical for Scarpa fitting. This is a VERY tailored fit, so your arch/volume are going to matter with this boot more than some flabby slab hiker. If it fits your foot and needs, jeez, it's a great piece of footwear.

Slightly heavier than the Kailash, but definitely more stout and tuned. Love the outsole here; nice and buoyant, but totally controlled. This is a boot that will make you want to check-out of suburbia - on foot, no less.

Another very well-made shoe from Scarpa. I first had the Zen shoe 20 years-ago. I loved it then; still a great product.

Problem: Sizing. Purchased in a 45.5 - my typical best-fit for Scarpa - but this shoe didn't come close, as it's a size 11 US in 45.5, not 11 1/2. Seems to be a "consistent" issue for the Romanian Scarpa product: Undersized, or labeled oddly.

Anyway, it makes it difficult to purchase the correct size without buying more than one size. Who really wants to do this?

This is a stiff shoe that inspires confidence, and it formed well to my foot; just not the size expected. Otherwise, no complaints. This shoe looks state-of-the-art, and feels like finely tailored footwear. Nice shoe/boot series from Scarpa.

This is a really nice boot, especially compared to most of the well-branded crap that once was good that's flooding the market via China these days. With Scarpa you get quality, consistently. Compare their offerings to current Garmount and Merrell... ugh!

This is a nice light/mid hiker, especially for women, I'd think. It doesn't come in half sizes, which I almost always require. I tried it in the 1/2 size larger and it just wasn't going to cut it.

Compared to the Kailash: Same great build, but less stout, less-tailored fit, and the endurance of the Mistral probably lesser, but the Mistral likely stays true to its design parameters.

For a daily driver, it's a nice boot, and very well made; that's Scarpa. Just no 1/2 sizes.

These are wonderful socks.

Padding where it's needed, and just-right light elsewhere. They are the best sock for everyday crew/hiker for walking in a boot I've come across. They illustrate just how far sock-weavingtechnology has come in 20 years.

The wide-but-unobtrusive ankle band a really nice feature. These are just a sock that I look forward to wearing, and I spend a lot of time barefoot. They disappear into you when in use, but provide an exceptional base.

I've usually run Thorlo or Darn Tough, but the phd just reminds me that this company leads in wool crew/hiking socks.
