Versatile Travel board
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this board to use for the occasional vacation where I need the ability to paddle flat-water or in small surf conditions. This model does both well. I am surprised by how well an inflatable board handles waist high surf. It works perfect in beach break, and I don't have to worry about damaging the board.

Best dedicated whitewater SUP
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I purchased this board in early 2018, and have since paddled it on several multi-day river trips. It has been a game changer for my whitewater paddling. The Rivershred charges downriver, is easy to ferry, surfs on the fly, and is just at home on the Class 2 town run as it is on bigger Class 3/4 water. If your looking at getting a dedicated SUP for whitewater, this is the one.

king of the quiver

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been an avid stand up paddler since the sport first came inland around 2010, and have owned multiple shapes, sizes, and styles of paddleboards. The "Monarch" model from Badfish is more than suitable for almost all the conditions I paddle in. Really shines as a board to cruise around a lake or harbor, and also does well in mellow whitewater. At 11' x 34", it's wide enough for me to lend out to complete beginners, but it has an outline that is tapered and glides well. I bought mine in early 2018, and it held up really well through a summer's full of frequent use. Solid quality. Happy with my purchase!

Super versatile inflatable.

I am an avid paddler. The 12'6 Raven inflatable is my go-to board for all types of paddling. It has great glide, and at 30" wide is still plenty stable for even beginner paddlers. This board is light and rolls up pretty small when deflated. I have paddled class 3 whitewater, flat water distance, down wind runs, all on the Raven. Well designed, and from a reputable designer and brand Boardworks.

I typically ride a 159, but bought the Big Chief in a 164. I thought it might be a lot of board to make tight turns in the trees, and make more technical moves through cliff areas.
After about 3-4 days on the big chief, it has changed my opinion on riding a big mountain style board on terrain other than big mountain. This thing screams on the hard-pack, and absolutely rips in steep terrain, deep snow, and tight tree runs. Easy to ride, and I am charging harder than ever.

SHUBU Mod
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The SHUBU Mod is an excellent all-around inflatable from Boardworks. I have paddled my 9'6" down the line on waist high waves on a beach break, and through class 1 & 2 rapids on the Colorado River. At 33" wide the board is very stable yet still has great glide and response. The Mod will stay in my quiver for a long time as a fun and versatile board!
