Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

We used this extensively through a 30-day tour of Europe with the family. It held up eel and did everything we needed it to in packing drinks and food for the family most days as we toured. Easy to load and a basic layout with one main compartment. Not a lot of bells and whistles on this thing, which was sort of surprising when we got it. Not sure I would use it for anything more than a day hike and there are probably even better options for that. But it did it’s job for us.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

We took these on a five-day camping trip. We were a bit concerned because of total calorie count that it may not be enough and actually took a few more packages of other food as well. But these worked great and we ended up having more than enough food and ate plenty on the backpacking trip. They were also delicious. We are a bit new to backpacking so don’t have a ton of experience but would say they were better than some other brands we tried and as good as others. They were at the top of the list for flavor and easy to prepare, especially if you don’t take have something for precise water measurements, as they have notches on the side you can use for fill lines. Highly recommend and planning to take some of the reserves on another overnighter this weekend.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

We took three different brands of food backpacking. This one was fine but not the best we tasted. It is a great vegetarian option though and we were glad to have some variety with the Indian food, which I think this was the only Indian food package we took. Easy to prepare. Our stove had run out of fuel so we were preparing food with water boiled over the fire. That was a little tougher to get the water consistently as hot as was probably ideal for making this particular food.

We took these on a backpacking trip and were glad to have them. A bit longer and easier to stir some of the food prep. Probably not as necessary for backpacking as we had other utensils and may leave at home next time. But for camping generally they will be put to great use.

We took a couple different camp lights on our recent backpack trip and came to like this one the best. And we didn’t even use the solar panel or charging features this one offers, which I can imagine could come in handy. But this is very lightweight, puts off great light, far more than you would assume and has a couple features like only lighting up half or complete. Great camp light for backpacking based on our experience, especially for the price.

We used this on a five-day backpacking trip. Plenty of space to carry lots of gear. The drawstring opening really allowed it to seemingly carry more gear in the main compartment than another pack even larger. Seems to have slightly fewer side pockets and the like but not much an issue for what we were using it for. As a basic and good-quality pack, you can’t go wrong here.
