5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 145 lbs

My girlfriend and I just returned from a 6-day mountaineering course on Mt Baker and she was absolutely thrilled with these pants. Good fit, great pocket placement (and amount of pockets), and she really liked how they looked. They held up and kept her reasonably dry during self-arrest and crevasse rescue training that required lots of time in the snow and ice. I'm sure she will get good use of them when we get into ski/snowboard season in the coming months!

My girlfriend ordered these pants. She loved the look. When trying them on, we discovered that only the front of the pants is softshell material. The back of the pants is a synthetic material that seemed like it would get wet if she sat down for any length of time in the snow/ice on a glacier. She returned them right away. Not practical for a mountaineering/skiing application.

I loved this Ferrosi jacket...picked it up kind of on impulse (got a good deal on it). I say "loved" because I lost it in Tanzania! This was a great outer layer for my Kilimanjaro trek - it worked well because it was dry and not too windy up above the cloud layer. Wouldn't use it in extremely wet conditions. Very lightweight, breathable, and stuffable into my pack. I wore it to the summit as a windbreaking layer over my micropoof and a couple other layers. As usual, a great product from OR. I plan to replace it. Hopefully a porter or local guide is getting good use out of it on the mountain!

Really pleased with these pants. Used them in many applications, but primarily hiking/trekking and skiing. They were my go to pants for the high altitude portions of my Kilimanjaro trek last summer (another guy on the trip had the same exact pants too and also thought highly of them). They are a little tight through the thigh and seat (thus 4 stars, not 5). Still enough room at the ankle when pant leg is unzipped to fit over ski boots.

These pants are great. The velco/drawstring combo is kind of a pain, but not a big deal. They are lightweight and very comfortable. I liked them so much that i bought the updated version in grey (the latest version has a button/velcro fly closure).

They do run small. I had to exchange my 32s that i wear with nearly every other pant style for 34s.
