Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

Rock hard under the ball of your foot. Noticably harder than any other approach shoe I've tried. This can get old on long approaches over hard pack or rocks.
Besides that, great shoe. Mine lasted 3 years before the sole was too worn, and the upper has held together well.

- runs big.
- gear loops are different sizes for different harness sizes. So, the medium and large have extremely awesome huge rear gear loops, but the small has very small rear loops. I was between medium and small, so over the last 3 years I have used both.
- mesh design breaths well and the buckles have a good feel. Pretty Comfy.

Bottom line: If you fit a medium or a large, it's a great breathable harness with awesomely big gear loops. If you're a small and you have a big rack, avoid it.

How common is using a tele boot/binding setup for this sort of ski?I'm coming off Alpina 1550s and 60/50/55 skis, and want something more fun in the powder on the downhills. I'll still be putting in plenty of miles on packed trails, though.Since I'm moving to skiis like this, are tele boot/bindings the way to go, or can I stick with something like the Alpina 2050s?
