Downward Dog?
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 150 lbs

This is my first yoga mat. Someone told me to try yoga. Yoga is pretty hard and I don't think I found inner peace...yet, but this mat definitely got me close. It is super soft/comfortable, it doesn't move, and is the perfect length. It's easy to clean if it's covered in dog hair.

Also a great dog bed.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

This winter I got fat. It was Cheetos, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and Netflix that led the way but I followed them and now here we are. They’re like those friends you had in college that never really moved on and enabled you to do the same. This spring I said “NO MORE! I’m gonna exercise, I’m gonna go to law school, I’m gonna pick up piano at a late age…” well, maybe, at least some of those things.

I received the MEN'S COOL-LITE INCLINE WINDBREAKER as a gift, and I’ve used it pretty much every day since. It is a wonderful jacket for cycling; the back pocket is perfect for reaching snacks (healthy ones, not Cheetos), it breaks wind well, and keeps me cool on tough climbs. If it’s getting a little too warm, I can pack it into its own pocket for super compact storage. Also when I’m going really hard it has a reflective strip running down the front for a little extra visibility at night. It looks good enough to impress girls at the library while I study for the LSAT. And it’s quiet enough to wear at my piano lessons (I hate piano lessons).

I love this windbreaker and will continue to utilize its versatility.

I keep this in my cycling backpack, it takes up no space, it weighs nothing, and when I need something for added warmth, it's ready to rock!

It's as if it could disappear and reappear like some kind of Hungarian-American illusionist.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is a super light helmet.
It is flexible.
The straps adjust nicely.
I like the magnetic chin latch.

It prevented small rocks falling from damaging my head.
The rocks scratched the helmet because it's made of a pretty soft foam exterior.

I think it's ugly but that's much more a personal opinion.

The new one coming out this summer is super dope!

Let me just tell you about my weekend,

It started early Friday morning; I moseyed into work at Backcountry around 8:01. It’s a casual work environment but you still want to look good, so the Evolv Cruzer Psyche Approach Shoes were the obvious choice for the day’s footwear. I fielded some emails and discussed my cool new shoes with some coworkers, and before you knew it, it was 12:00 PM. TIME TO GO TO MOAB. I gathered some gear, bought some beer and quicker than you could say “sent it” we were off for a weekend of fun in the sun.

We arrived in time for some light bouldering and with these shoes light bouldering was no problem at all, they fit snug, have super grip, and provide the comfort and stability you need for an easy day on the rocks.

On Saturday, we went for a 20 mile mountain bike ride- I again used my Evolv Cruzer Psyche Approach Shoes, they are some of the better mountain bike shoes I’ve used, they gripped the pedals extremely well and provided the stiff rigidity you need to stay on the bike.

Then we went out to dinner and drank some beers…same shoes, same outcome.

Sunday we set out for a short canyoneering trip, and in an effort not to sound like a broken record…They were perfect. Gripped the walls well helped me navigate through some of the more technical parts of the canyon, and provided good support for the repels.

These are good looking, comfortable, and highly functional.

I’m a big fan!

P.S. for a long hike, they're a bit stiff.

I used to live with a girl in Italy, I decided last summer that I would walk 500 miles...and possibly 500 more to go visit her. Fortunately they've invented airplanes which is nice because this bag is the perfect carry on size. I jammed it full of things that would make me look like a cool guy in Italy, and I looked so cool when I got there...cuz of how much stuff I can fit in this bag. The backpack straps made me look even cooler and I walked around all day as the coolest guy in Italy!

*Note- fully packed, the dimensions of this pack flirt with the limits of carry on status. I've never had a problem...but it is possible.*

I tried this out in a rain demo last fall at Backcountry HQ, it was a race of cunning and whit, while people sprayed you with hoses. Although I was beaten badly, when I took off the jacket, I was bone dry! Later that week, I went out and bought my own Black Diamond Liquid Point Shell Jacket and I am very happy with the results. I have used it at football games, skiing...and coming soon to this summer CLIMBING/HIKING!

Updates to come.

When I go skateboarding and fall down, Chums are there.
When I'm sailing and the seas are rough, Chums are there.

When I'm hiking,

When I'm biking,

When I'm skiing uphill,

CHUMS ARE THERE!

If you're looking for a companion that'll always be there for you, look to Chums.

They'll keep your glasses around through all conditions.

Good Skins!
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

G3 makes an excellent skin, good traction, good glue, and super easy to cut, the cutting tool is prime time, if you dont know how to use it, google it. Make sure to put the skins on before you trim them though..not me but a friend bought the wrong size and trimmed them...it wont end well for you. They dont come with a skin saver, but that's why they're cheap, so if you're a telemark skier with duct tape on your early 90's North Face jacket, these are the skins for you.

Also they look cool!

I bought this pump to fill my tubeless tires. It worked...and it worked well. Previously I've used my best friend's motorized air pump, which works a treat. Recently I decided to come into my own on the mtn bike scene, and with this pump I didn't miss a beat. I'll admit, it was tenuous at first, but once I got it dialed in, it worked without fuss!

TLDR. If you need a pump for a tubless set up, this one works damn well! It also has a bottle opener attached to it, so that's good.

The first time I used my Hydro Flask 24oz Standard Mouth Water Bottle it made me mad! I am not a fan of hot drinks, I like them luke warm at best. I made a pot of tea, poured it into the Hydro Flask, drove 45 minutes to work and burned my tongue! I was like "WHAT?" The double-wall 18/8 stainless steel construction is no joke, it's great if that's what you're into. I perter the other side of the Hydro Flask like to be cool, and I'll tell you what, this flask will keep your drinks as ice cold as Matty Ryan in the second half of Superbowl 51!

I dropped it, it has a dent, I'm even more cool now!

I bought these for my Mom, and then I went skiing one day, and wouldn't you know it, I forgot my gloves. I borrowed these, they were really warm, and although I didn't need it, they have a zippered hand warmer pocket if you really want to turn up the heat.

I asked my mom how the gloves were holding up, she said, "good honey." and gave me some gluten free brownies.

Top product if you ask me.

I got these boots for my, friend who is a girl, and this is what she said, "These boots by far surpass any snowboarding boots I've ever owned. I can wear them for the entire day out on the mountain without ever having to readjust them. Always had a problem with numb toes in all previous boots I've owned despite if they were too small or too big, but I could wear these all day happily. I typically wear a size 8 and bought these in a 7 and they couldn't be more perfect. Snug in all the right places, no pressure points, light, flexible yet responsive, and the lace up system tightens flawlessly where you need it to for the most comfortable boot one could hope for." -Kristi

So, I mean based on that, I'd buy them again, plus they look dope, which is super important when you're tryna ride a snowboard.

Stanley's iconic look coupled with America's favorite libations, how could you lose? I've had it for about a year now and it has been through a lot. Great for a refreshment on the slopes, awesome for some hydration on a hike, and radical for a mid sail pick me up. One time I dropped it while skateboarding, nothin' doin', the flask prevailed. It's solid like, an 8oz rock! Rock solid! Big fan, bought one for my brother for Christmas.

This is a true story. Last fall I was down in Moab, UT with some friends on a climbing trip, I just finished failing to climb a simple bolder problem and decided to take a seat for a while and reflect on my climbing skills. Suddenly, behind me there was a commotion, I turned to see what was going on just as a man who couldnt've been taller than 5'8" kicked a man that couldnt've been shorter than 6'3" SQUARE in his face. I never got much closure on what the issue was, but I did notice one thing, the short man was wearing the Prana Stretch Zion Pant. That day I thought to myself, if that very short man could kick that tall man in the face, I could do anything. I went out and bought myself a pair of Prana Stretch Zion Pant and now I kick everybody in the face.

JK, I have never kicked anyone in the face, but since I bought these pants my heel hooks have been dope. They are a wide fit and are super stretchy. I like that you can button them up for something of a capri feel.

They did come a little bit shorter than I feel like they were advertised, but it actually works well for their intended outdoor conditions.

I got these for my Canadian friend, he loves them, we played pond hockey the other day and he was wearing them. Some little kids beat us in 3 on 3, Im not very good at hockey.

They provide a warm, thin, and fashionable under-layer for winter sports. 10 out of 10 would buy them for a Canadian again.

...Well not "cool" as in cold, but like super dope rad gnar. John is my coworker, (See his review) he was trying on mittens for like a week straight instead of working, as a result I had to work harder, it was bologna. But after the Christmas rush he decided on these gloves, about two days later I was like, "hey John, how were those Burton Free Range Mittens?" He was like "Warm, buy them." So wouldn't you know it, I did, and I'll tell you what, they're not warm, they're downright hot! I used them skiing in 0 degree weather and I didn't even have to think about my hands, so far they're fantastic.

They have a tight entry point but lots of room once you get your hand inside, works well to hold in the heat. They are also allegedly cellphone compatible.
