Tyler Carlson-Ham's Bio

I grew up camping in my father's Westfalia, if we werent camping we'd be snowboarding Mt. Hood or M.t Bachelor! I've recently started riding a SUP down my local river the Clackamas with maybe a class II in it but I'm looking to step up my game there.

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 165 lbs
Size Purchased: Medium

I got this for a lightweight packable rain jacket for day hiking. I have seen this item in the Patagonia line forever, and always thought it was not technical enough to spend the money on. I am very pleasantly surprised at both fit and function, and especially the attention to the little details that make it an incredibly wearable piece. It is way more jacket than I thought it was.

I have both a Better Sweater jacket and quarter-zip pullover. I bought this Performance Hoodie mostly for the hood, but soon realized that the fit makes this a much better layering piece for active outdoors. The snug fit and the torso and underarm panels make this one of my favorite ski touring pieces. I expect this will get a lot of use this summer as well.

I have a few of the 16oz. pint glasses that will keep a beer solid cold right down to the last sip. The 22oz. tumbler is now my go-to coffee commuter mug. It will keep my coffee hot for the entire commute regardless of traffic or weather. It's nicely built, and virtually indestructible.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought these as a gift for my Dad. He is a Smith fan, and has several polarized pairs for fishing and boating, but he doesn't use polarized lenses for driving as they clash with his windshield tinting. He thinks these are the best driving lenses he's had. He also kind of digs the whole 'license and registration' look and attitude

I bought these as a gift for my Mom. They are her favorite. She has multiple pair. Some of which she would estimate to be more than a decade old. She cannot rate them high enough, so we'll have to settle for just 5 stars.

I got this kit for Kayak trips. The waterproof case was a strong attraction. It also has a smaller case for day hikes. As such it is convenient to throw in the pack, but the entire kit is a little short on bandages for minor wound dressing of normal cuts and scrapes. I suppose it is trying to be weight conscious, for which it does an admirable job. It just seems you will have to reload on a regular basis

I didn't really believe the ChromaPop hype until I actually received this pair. I have several pair of Smith polarized sunglasses that I use fly fishing, and kayaking. I didn't think there could be that much difference in ChromaPop. I was blown away by the color contrast and clarity of this lens. it's the only pair that I want to wear anymore.

Have used this pant for most od]f the season. I probably have 20+ days in them. The fit is excellent, with plenty of room without being sloppy big. Features are clean and usable without complication. Bomber scuff guard reinforcement, plenty breathable, and excellent DWR. I would recommend these to anyone who rides or skis.

Received 2 pair of Patagonia Dirt Roamer shorts recently. It is still winter here in Montana so riding is a little tough right now, but I can tell by the fir and function that these shorts will be awesome to ride in this spring. The fit is about right, long inseam, excellent stretch. They are uncomplicated and straight to the point.
