Travis Woodruff's Bio

First raced a mountain bike in '97 and hasn't ever looked back. All things bike related are a way of life - riding, coaching (his 9-5), and a healthy dose of wrenching are the daily norm. Fortunately his wife, Chloe, is equally addicted to two wheels... A pro since 2006, Travis knows how to do it as a privateer better than most. A new addition to the backcountry.com mountain bike pro team for 2014.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This Lite version is my go to lube for road riding, or riding in dry, but not too dusty MTB conditions. It keeps the drivetrain running smoothly and is plenty durable. When more durability is needed (more dust or if it's wet out) then you'll want to with the Original blue option. Great product.

The resin pads work great, especially in the West where the riding is generally dry. You'll get a lot of miles out of these pads and they'll keep quiet while offering great stopping power. I've used them on XT and XTR calipers. Pick up a few extras so you have spares when you (or a buddy) really need them.

This 10 speed 11-36 cassette is a tough one to beat. It's plenty durable for logging big miles and it also shifts great and keeps the chain running smoothly. The profile of the teeth is nicer than that of SRAM options. It's not as light as XT, but for general use or for training purposes you can't go wrong.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

This was my first try with Unior tools and I was happy with the quality. This is great for headsets and also bottom brackets with all of the various press in options that are out there. Having the proper tool feels so much better than using a rubber mallet and a block of wood or a homemade threaded rod press.

This tool goes perfectly in conjunction with the Abbey Crombie tool. The Crombie slides into the chain whip for compact storage or travel. The chain whip itself is very well built and does a good job of holding onto the cassette. As with other Abbey tools, contstruction quality is top notch.

This tool makes fitting any hub to the truing stand a simple and reliable process. Construction quality is excellent and I was pleasantly surprised to receive it in the dark green anodized color (not the silver color as shown). If you true wheels and have a variety of hubs around, this is a great tool to pick up.

After countless years of using a lockring tool in conjunction with an adjustable wrench, the Crombie tool is very nice to use. No fumbling around and it works great. The construction quality is excellent and the ability to store it with the Abbey Chain Tool seals the deal for when you need to travel with it. If you're a wrench you'll really appreciate this one!

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
Fit: Runs small

I returned these pants after trying them on. They were too tight at the waist (for the size) while the legs seemed to be on the loose side. The materials seemed great and I really wanted to like these, but the fit was too far off for them to work for me.
