Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is my first ultralight pack, and hopefully my last. Made from a very light weight , high tech material (Cuben Fiber) it's seems quite tough. The roll top closure is a smart design that ensures its waterproof. Hyperlite's moto is everything you need and nothing that you don't , I feel that's a perfect way to describe this pack. The padded hip belt is minimal, but works well. I carried 23 lbs about 40 miles and have no complaints, other than I should have gone ultralight sooner !! I would highly recommend this pack.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I did a ton of research before buying this tent, and with the sale price at Backcountry, it made it doable. It's extremely lightweight and kept me dry in a light rain. People have complained about the difficulty entering and exiting, and their right. BUT, any freestanding tent is going to weigh a half to a full pound more, so it's all about trade offs. The new lightweight materials are crazy thin, but so far , so good. Any item that's ultralight, has to be treated with care, we're talking about a tent that weighs less than most Bivy sacks. Big thanks to Gabe at Backcountry for the help !
