Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love this fire starter. It lights very easily. I put them in a wet cast iron pan and lit the wetfire with ease using a small ferro rod. I also wanted to test and see if would really light while floating in water, it does. The wetfire has a good flame and burn a long time using only a little bit of shavings. I will have this any time I'm in the backcountry.

This combo is small and easy to use. The handles are easier to hold than other ferro rod kits I have used in the past. The rod emits a good shower for the size. I purchased 2 more kits for my nephews to show them how to use.

I love this knife. It is very comfortable to handle and durable. The spine is thick and great for batoning wood. The spine has a great edge for use with a Ferro Rod. It will throw a great spark. Everyone I have shown this knife is impressed. Cant wait to try it out more.

I have only been able to shortly test this quilt in my hammock. I used it in my hammock for approximately 2 hrs on a 34 degree, windy day. I only wore shorts, long sleeve merino wool shirt and my Western Mountaineering Slinglite underquilt. Without a doubt the quilt is warm. The quilt packs down amazing and is so light. Western Mountaineering makes a great product.

I tested this underquilt for about 2 hrs on my hammock. It was approximately 34 degrees and a steady 5-10 mph wind. I intentionally did not attempt to block the wind to see how it performed. The underquilt stayed secured and kept me warm. I love this underquilt. It is very easy to adjust. It is very warm and it is so light.
