Familiarity: I've used it several times

These gloves were, at first, pretty nice and checked all the boxes for what I was seeking: stylish, leather, warm, goes great with my peacoat. After a couple days of use, I had to send them back. First, I noticed how bulky and awkward the back of my hand appeared while wearing them. The leather bulks up and it looked like I was wearing boxing gloves. Second, the amount of bulk in the thumbs and some of the fingers meant I could not handle ANYTHING while wearing them. Forget trying to get my keys out of my pants pocket or putting my keys into the door lock. I have very big hands and so I ordered a size 11. The finger length fit well, but the overall glove felt sloppy on my hand and the lack of means to secure the glove meant i was constantly readjusting them and ensuring they were on properly. Too much to deal with for an accessory. That said, I thought they were stylish and I loved the smell and texture of the leather. They were also pretty warm and the wool inside was very comfortable. Being the design of the leather shell was so awkward, I think maybe I should have gone with a size 10, but I have other hestras in an 11 that fit perfect. Backcountry was great with my return and I swapped it out for another Hestra option. Thanks

Perfect pack for mountain hikes

This is a great pack. Deuter has figured out the best features for the serious hiker and has put them together in a sleek and well-designed package. I recently took this pack hiking in the Rila mountains of Bulgaria. Five days and four nights moving between mountain huts were perfectly handled by this 32 liter pack. Its comfortable to wear while hiking and has a great ventilation system through the back (ACT) that was a great feature while hiking at elevation, at a fast pace and for hours on end.My favorite features include the side pocket for dirty clothes or extra water bottle, front zipper for easy access and front pocket for stowing that all-important rain or wind shell. A great buy

Working great in the Adirondacks

This filter is exceptionally easy to use. Cleans 4 liters of water while I can be off doing other things. The only issue I had was in keeping the "clean" components free from contaminants. The clean hose and clean opening on the filter seemed exposed to opportunity for contamination. Otherwise, it is a great product that is well designed and ridiculously convenient.
