Really like how instead of a retractable handle, there's a solid webbing handle. Its well built, about as light as it can get without losing durability. TNF knows how to make their duffels, and the added wheels on this one, which are off road worthy, doesn't make this bag any less expedition ready.

Osprey For The Win
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
Height: 3' 5"
Weight: 39 lbs
Size Purchased: OSFA

I was worried this pack would be awkward and too big on my 4 year old daughter (43" tall). But not only does it fit, the strap system works as well as any adult Osprey pack to custom snug to her body. Thats important because the pack is pretty large for a smaller kid and can get pretty heavy. We can fit her lunch box, extra shoes/clothing/layers and water without stuffing it all in. The beaver tail outer/open compartment is key for both shoving some of her things (like shoes) in on the fly, and also because zippers are still not intutive for her age. I havent used this with a bladder yet, so cant speak for that. Most of the kids in my daughters forest preschool rock this pack. And I'm stoked that we will not have to buy her another pack for a, long time. Ospreys are hands down the best all around packs made.

Superior design mixed with bomber materials and constuction at a low price. I wanted a low maintenance hybrid city/day pack and this is it. Even though its a 17L, it seems big. Can fit a laptop with plenty of room to spare. And adequate capacity for a full day in the backcountry, packing layers. Could double as a great rope bag, as well. Front exterior pocket is large enough for a 40 ounce water bottle. And top internal pocket is big, will fit a phone, wallet and sunscreen. Key loop would have been nice in here. All the straps and buckles fit and function as well as they should for a one size fits all build. Next level rolltop takes a bit more time than a zipper would, but appreciate the minimalist design. Its not a cutesy, hipster rolltop. With only the 2 aux zippers and no velcro, this bag should last a lifetime or two.

Stoked that Backcountry.com makes/offers these. For starters, its nice to pay a lot less for skins, now. But the beauty is these G3's are better than most of other skins out there. The top mounts swivel, which makes these easier to mount. Way less fuss then the Black Diamond or Voile mounts that I've been using for many years and have never really liked. Only been out one on excursion thus far, but put them to the test sidehilling on some ice and they passed with flying colors.

Also got to really thank the customer service specialist Connor for the follow up call. Had he not gotten in touch, I would have ended up with the wrong pair and probably would not have had these for the trip I was going on the following week. Although, it probably still would have worked out because the shipping was ridiculously fast. It took 2 days to get to California. And the size was perfect. I could get away without even trimming them. Thanks!

Fit: Runs small

One thing cool I did not realize till I got them is that they're made with all sustainable materials. The fit is definitely narrow, but they break in quickly and since it is an approach shoe, comfort is not its strong point. The soles are designed to be sticky, so keep that in mind when navigating hard surfaces like concrete or rock. Considering Scarpa went the extra distance by using eco friendly materials which noone seems to be doing, these have vibram soles, and they're some of the only canvas shoes out there, these are a good deal.
