I've been wearing Pearl shorts forever and have nothing but good experience. I like the new wider waist and leg bands, they don't pinch, for lack of a better term. However, either the sizing is now smaller or someone forgot to tell me these are now compression shorts. Regardless, a three hour ride is not uncomfortable.

I have to admit, I'm pretty easy when it comes to gear. I'm lucky, I adapt easily. These shoes work great. Maybe a hair long for a ten, at least longer than a Salomon ten. Toe box maybe a little wide but we'll see once the uppers soften up. As for the midsole, the padding is firm compared to a Hoka, but almost too soft for my liking. 4mm of drop is a good amount. It feels flat to me. The outsole looks pretty knobby and provides good traction in the loose over hard trails we have here.

Gave these as a gift and she wrote an in depth review

"I am 5'4" 123 lbs and these pants in size small fit relaxed rather than fitted. The XS was just a little too fitted and size S is a little looser than I prefer, but I think they are supposed to fit more relaxed. They are a little long for me, but most pants are. The velcro waist cinch is a nice feature, BUT with the elastic in the back of the waistband, the pants do not stay put at the waist and I constantly have to yank them up. A belt or suspenders is a must. The waist would fit much better without the elastic. There are more pockets than I can use and I prefer to wear my beacon on my body as it pulls down on the pants when in the beacon pocket. The left thigh pocket is convenient for holding your phone. The waterproof/breathable and stretchy material is top quality and is comfortable for walking and skiing. The side zips are easy to use when I need to loose some heat on the uphill. overall, I would recommend these pants, but with a belt."

Looks good, fits great. Not aero like roadie, nor baggy like freerider. Just right. And pockets in back for holding stuff like small sandwiches, gel, and phone.
