Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
Look good, fit well and break in quickly. These will be a regular purchase for me.

This is a pretty good shoodie for days out under the sun. I bought this one and the patagonia Tropic Comfort II Hooded Shirt as well, and while I think both are great, the Tropic Comfort II Hooded Shirt weighs less and keeps me cooler for sure. This is shirt is a great second option if you can not get the Tropic Comfort II Hooded Shirt.
I'm 5'10" 175lbs with athletic build and bought a medium, wish I had gotten a small.
Ive decided to consider this hoodie a staple of my desert adventure and backpacking kit. Im one of those weird folks who hates the sun but loves canyoneering and rock climbing and backpacking. Sun burn makes me mad, but I don't have to worry about that anymore. The sun could be blaring all day and I would be sitting pretty in this hoodie.
The best feature of this hoodie though isn't that it shields me from the sun (any old sweater could do that), but that it keeps me cool while doing so. The fabric this thing is made of is so light and thin that should a mere wisp of breeze pass by, the evaporative cooling process begins immediately and you'll get a nice chill on your skin. If you pass by some water, dunk it in and reap the cooling benefits, the wetter this thing gets, the cooler you get.
I highly recommend buying many of these if you find yourself trying to hide from the suns gaze often. It's been a game changer for me.
Im 5'10", 175lbs with an athletic build and a small fits me perfectly (I like my shirts a little snug around the chest and shoulders).
This thing is surprisingly warm for its thinness. It fits well and works great as a layer in your system, just be prepared to shed it on those blue bird days. would absolutely buy again.
Makes a great outer layer for days in the mountains when you've stopped moving, also looks good in town. Light and warm, very effective.
So freakin comfy, I cant bear to try on other shoes. The rubber is decent and I even like the bendable sole, though some like the stiffer soles in other shoes for the footwork advantage. I have some issues heel hooking in these, Ive had to come off climbs because the heel cup failed on me a couple of times. Outdoors I only use these on slab, everything else I pull out my katanas.
Ended up not using these because of a shortage of NNN binding plates from rossi this year.. They look like they work just fine though, and many people use this exact model. The ski shop guys were very familiar with them.
Great skis for a VERY good price! These things are perfect for someone who isnt looking to win the olympics or national skate skiing championships or anything like that, basically regular people just looking for a workout.. They do not come with binding plates however, so likely a good match for the salamon Pro link binding instead of the normal NNN or whatever bindings.
Light enough to consider for snowshoeing backpacking trips and sturdy enough to bring on those rougher crazy terrain hikes, however this shoe doesn't have the heel riser and has less grippy spikes around the side than other models. from MSR. Regardless, would recommend.
Coziest sweater i own by far. Winter is going to be good in this piece. Im 5'10" 170lbs and a medium is a little baggy on me, wish i had gone down to a small. The material and make of the sweater is top notch, and I cant put into words properly how amazingly cozy and warm i feel in this thing.
Im on my 2nd pair of these. I pull them out of the closet anytime I plan on hitting the trail, wether im running, hiking, backpacking. They dont do so well on rock as approach shoes, but thats ok. At least im comfortable when im falling on my face on the way to the crag. beyond that, no gripes and will continue to buy them for a long time.
Ive been on the hunt for the perfect pair of jeans that fit right and feel comfortable. These are the ones.
im typically a 32x30, and that size in these jeans fits me pretty well, the inseam is a little tight and a little short so I might bump up an inch or two when I buy a years worth of these things. Finding a good pair of denim is a precious discovery...
I may have a fit issue that is specific to me, but the cut of these shorts is restricting and super tight, making any type of movement super awkward.
The leg holes barely fit my thighs through them, and are really tight, to tight to get used to. additionally, the waist is a size or two bigger than i can handle, making a very strange fit experience.
Even more, these shorts somehow restrict the movement of my legs in any fashion, most of the restriction seems to come from the crotch and inseam. makes it very hard to ride my bike, which defeats the purpose of getting these shorts... not a huge fan.
They look nice though.. Im 5'10" about 170 lbs and i got a 32 (as is my normal waist size). i cant go smaller cause my legs barely fit in the leghole width as it is...
Bought two pairs of these shorts for myself, and now consider them a staple of my backpacking/climbing attire. Heres the down-low:
- These puppies are shorter than your average male shorts, and I am super happy about this. Men, your ridiculous cargo shorts dont need to be flopping around below your knees, ever.. You are presumably grown adults, step the classiness up a tad. I dont have to worry about the weight of these shorts pulling themselves down off my hip where they should sit, and I am able to hike, and climb without restraint from my clothing. very handy. Getting some sun on those thighs I work so hard for is nice as well. My girlfriend, and her friends approve of the length on these.
- The material is actually super tough, but the fit is so good that it isnt a knock on comfort. The material almost resembles tough canvas, but maybe a little more giving. Wipe climbing chalk on em, dry your hands on em, whatever... they wont degrade anytime soon, thats for sure.
- The Pockets are very deep, and the way they are integrated into the structure creates a secure pocket as well. I have been upside down climbing over hanging boulders and not lost my phone to gravity from my pockets.
- the fit is SUPERB: im 5'10", 170lbs, and the smalls fit me like a classy white glove you'd put on before handling fine art.
Conclusion? Let your legs step out of the deep dark cave you call shorts now0-a-days and put on some real shorts. The world deserves better than your 19 inch inseam..
I have used this filter for almost four years now, and it has yet to fail me. It pumps quickly, while still doing its primary job very well. I do have an issue with leaking at the head before the ceramic filter, but as long as I'm careful not to let any of the leaked water into the bottle or along the edges of the bottle's mouth then its not a problem.A minor nuisance really.
Easy to clean, quickest pump I've ever used, and does it's job well. what more could you want?
I would highly recommend this filter.
Stylish and comfortable. What more do you need?
This shoe does everything I need it to do. Bouldering, sport climbing, slab, steep, slick, you name it, it will stick if you trust your feet. The toe of the shoe is super stiff and edgy, which seems counter intuitive at first, but you later realize that the stiffness in the sole under the toe is only helping you crank hard on the smallest of footholds.
Fit is pretty fantastic, runs a bit small. I find myself sizing down less in this pair.
I took a star away for durability. Ive had mine about 4 ~5 months and have already blown through the toes on both sides... More than a little disappointed about that. Hoping that I simply got a defective pair and that they normally are more durable than that..
Outstanding quality, and the materials are chosen very well. Extremely stylish and fashion forward despite it being a tech layer piece. Im very impressed with the construction and style of this sweater.
Im 5'10" and 165 lbs. This shirt is pretty snug on me, which is perfect for a base layer on the slopes, but a bit odd for street wear. A medium would have worked better. And thats my only gripe.
EDIT: I originally bought a small and it was way to small. a medium is perfect for me at my size and dimensions. Fits like an athletic trim t-shirt.
These are fantastic skins for those who are new to touring. The traction is next to none, and the glide doesn't suffer so noticeably that I wouldn't consider them for a long tour. And the attachments for your skis are bomber.
The glue could be stickier, but I havent had issues with it yet, So I wont take a star off for speculation.
Best purchase I've made for my touring setup.
